Yes—if you want Morkvarg to stay dead, lift his curse first, then kill him. Killing him while he is still cursed does not resolve the encounter: he returns. You can lift the curse with the Cursed Fang or by feeding him his own flesh, and either route still leaves you free to fight him afterward.
What happens if you kill Morkvarg while he is cursed?

Should you ask for the reward before deciding?

Ask for the reward if you want to preserve that opportunity, then decide what to do with him. The available guides point toward a loanshark in Novigrad, but do not establish a universal reward amount or package, so do not rely on a specific total.

Can the quest get stuck?
The Official Witcher Wiki warns that In Wolf’s Clothing can become stuck. The walkthroughs support both curse-removal routes, but do not establish that every interaction permutation or game version is bug-free. If the quest stops progressing, avoid assuming that repeating a cursed-state kill will resolve it; consult a walkthrough matching your game version and check your active quest objectives.
