Jiyan is an Aero Broadblade main damage dealer whose biggest damage window comes from Resonance Liberation: Qingloong Mode turns his attacks into enhanced Heavy Attacks. Build around that window, but choose Echoes and Energy Regen for your team rather than following one setup blindly. Prydwen’s guide, updated October 1, 2026, ranks Verdant Summit highest and recommends Windward Pilgrimage when an ally can apply Aero Erosion; without that support, Sierra Gale is the safer general choice. Prydwen’s Jiyan guide and LootBar’s June 2026 guide offer differing builds and team examples, so the conditions behind each recommendation matter.
How Jiyan deals damage
Jiyan is a five-star Aero Broadblade character played as a main DPS. He builds Resolve and spends it with Resonance Liberation to enter Qingloong Mode, where his attacks become enhanced Heavy Attacks. That makes Liberation uptime and support for his Heavy Attack damage central to the build.
Use Resonance Skill outside the Liberation window when you need Resonance Energy. Before activating Liberation, use Jiyan’s Echo so its buff overlaps with Qingloong Mode. During the burst, prioritize the enhanced Heavy Attacks rather than spending time on the end of an animation after its damage has already landed.
Standard burst sequence
- Use Jiyan’s Intro Skill, then activate Forte Circuit and a Heavy Attack as appropriate to your available resources.
- Use Resonance Skill, then activate Resonance Liberation to enter Qingloong Mode.
- Repeat enhanced Heavy Attacks and use Resonance Skill again when available; finish with Outro Skill to pass the field to the next character.
Prydwen describes a more advanced “Double Dragon Combo” using timed dodge cancels to shorten execution and add damage. It is optional: a mistimed cancel can interrupt an attack, so use the standard sequence until the timing is comfortable.

Which weapon should you use?
Prydwen ranks Verdant Summit R1 first in its comparison, using it as the 100% reference point. The signature Broadblade pairs high Base ATK with Heavy Attack damage and CRIT DMG, making it a strong fit for Jiyan’s Qingloong damage window. That ranking is a guide calculation, not an official tier list, and it does not mean you need to obtain the weapon to use Jiyan effectively.
For alternatives, Prydwen identifies Radiance Cleaver as its best permanently available option and Aureate Zenith as its best four-star option. Aureate Zenith has lower Base ATK than most five-star options, but can be a practical choice if it is already in your inventory. The guide also compares Thunderflare Dominion, Ages of Harvest, Kumokiri, Wildfire Mark, Lustrous Razor, Autumntrace, and Meditations on Mercy. Treat these rankings as source-specific comparisons rather than a universal pull order; use the strongest suitable Broadblade you own instead of chasing a weapon solely for Jiyan.

Which Echo set and main Echo fit your team?
The deciding factor is whether a teammate can apply Aero Erosion. Prydwen rates Windward Pilgrimage highly with that effect active, but says it performs comparatively poorly without an Aero Erosion applier. Sierra Gale is the more dependable general set when your team cannot provide the condition. LootBar’s June 2026 guide uses Sierra Gale as its baseline, illustrating why the set recommendation depends on team assumptions.
| Setup | When to use it | Main Echo guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Windward Pilgrimage | Use when a teammate reliably applies Aero Erosion; the set offers Aero damage benefits and conditional gains against affected targets, including CRIT Rate. | Nightmare: Kelpie is Prydwen’s top choice in this setup, by a narrow margin. |
| Sierra Gale | Use as the general option, especially without an Aero Erosion applier. It offers an unconditional Aero bonus and additional Aero damage after Intro. | Nightmare: Feilian Beringal is Prydwen’s recommendation and LootBar’s general main-Echo choice. |
When the performance difference between main Echoes is small, favor the one with better substats rather than treating the named pick as mandatory.

What stats should Jiyan’s Echoes have?
| Echo cost | Main stat |
|---|---|
| 4-cost | CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG |
| 3-cost | Aero DMG or ATK% |
| 1-cost (both slots) | ATK% |
For substats, first get enough Energy Regen to support the rotation you actually use, then prioritize CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG, followed by ATK%. Flat ATK and Heavy Attack damage are lower priorities in Prydwen’s ordering.
Energy Regen is not a universal fixed target: it changes with the team and rotation. Prydwen suggests 115–125% for endgame builds, estimating around 117% with Iuno and Ciaccona while noting Shorekeeper or Verina teams need more. LootBar gives 130% as its target. These are guide estimates based on different assumptions, not pass/fail thresholds; if Liberation is not ready when your intended burst begins, adjust Energy Regen or the rotation.

Which teams work well with Jiyan?
Choose teammates for the support your roster needs: Heavy Attack buffs, Aero Erosion for Windward Pilgrimage, healing or general buffs, and comfortable rotations. The combinations below are examples from the cited guides, not a definitive tier list.
| Team example | Why consider it |
|---|---|
| Jiyan / Iuno / Shorekeeper | LootBar’s premium Heavy Attack hypercarry example: Iuno buffs Heavy Attack damage, while Shorekeeper provides general buffs and healing. |
| Jiyan / Mortefi / Shorekeeper | Mortefi is an accessible Heavy Attack support example; Shorekeeper adds general support. LootBar’s example also uses coordinated attacks. |
| Jiyan / Ciaccona / Aero Rover | LootBar’s Aero-oriented alternative. Prydwen notes Ciaccona can support Aero-focused options and Aero Rover can contribute Aero Erosion synergy outside quick-swap compositions. |
Prydwen also lists Phrolova and Rebecca among possible Heavy Attack synergy choices, and Verina as a general support alongside Shorekeeper. Weigh the available buffs and utility against your own roster; a limited character is not a prerequisite for playing Jiyan.

Which skills should you upgrade first?
- Resonance Liberation
- Forte Circuit
- Resonance Skill
- Intro Skill
- Basic Attack
Both cited build guides prioritize Liberation, followed by Forte Circuit and Resonance Skill. If materials are tight, Prydwen says Intro Skill and Basic Attack can be postponed, with minimal damage loss compared with investing in the higher-priority skills.
Quick Recap
How to choose a practical build
- Use the best suitable Broadblade already available to you; Verdant Summit is Prydwen’s top-ranked comparison option, not a requirement.
- Pick Windward Pilgrimage only when the team can apply Aero Erosion reliably; otherwise start with Sierra Gale.
- Choose main Echo and substats for the set you use, and prioritize enough Energy Regen to make your rotation work.
- Build a team around Heavy Attack support and the healing, buffs, or Aero Erosion your roster can supply.
