Mech Arena has two progression tracks to understand: the Progress Path uses XP to unlock milestones and features, while the Gear Hub organizes access to Mechs and Weapons by tier. Its modes include team battles, solo competition, and a PvE challenge. Knowing which system controls what—and checking the current in-game costs before spending—gives new players a clearer start.
Which game modes can you play?
Plarium describes Mech Arena as a fast-paced PvP mech shooter. Its game page lists five modes, and official support also has topics for tournaments and custom matches. The broad choice is whether you want team play, solo competition, or a PvE challenge:
| Mode | Format | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Control Point Clash | 5v5 team mode | Team objective play. |
| Deathmatch | 5v5 team mode | Team elimination combat. |
| Deathmatch | 2v2 team mode | A smaller team format. |
| Free-For-All | Solo competitive format | Compete without a team. |
| Onslaught | PvE challenge | Fight against AI opponents. |
These descriptions identify the high-level formats, not detailed rules. Plarium’s product page does not establish round rules, rewards, map rotations, or which modes are available at every moment, so check the current mode information in the game. Plarium’s Mech Arena page lists the modes; the official support index includes tournament and custom-match topics.
How do the Progress Path and Gear Hub differ?
They track different kinds of progress. The Progress Path tracks accumulated XP and grants milestone rewards and feature unlocks. The Gear Hub is the tiered structure for acquiring and ranking up Mechs and Weapons. A milestone on one track is not the same as unlocking a tier on the other.

Progress Path: XP, rewards, and features
According to Plarium Support’s Progress Path article, updated July 7, 2026, players can earn XP from battles, regular objectives, and event objectives. The article says battles can provide up to 500 XP daily, with regular Daily and Weekly Objectives adding up to another 500 XP daily. It gives Pilot Access at 1,000 XP and Squad Presets at 10,000 XP as examples of feature milestones. Treat these as the article’s stated limits and thresholds, and check the in-game Progress Path for the current values.

Gear Hub: equipment and tier access
The Gear Hub—called the Market in one support article—contains eight sequential tiers, according to Plarium Support’s article updated February 6, 2025. To advance, earn Tier Stars from the preceding tier by acquiring a Mech or Weapon or ranking one up. The article explains that acquiring an item grants stars corresponding to its rank, while each rank-up adds one star.

- Versatile Tri-Mode Connectivity: Use low-latency 2.4GHz RF, Bluetooth, or wired USB-C to play on PC and ROG Xbox Ally; plus certified for Xbox via USB-C and 2.4GHz RF
- Ultra-Response Control: 1000Hz polling rate provides ultra-low latency in both PC wired and 2.4GHz wireless modes, with the latter enhanced by ROG SpeedNova Wireless technology
- Anti-Drift TMR Joysticks: More accurate while consuming less power versus Hall Effect joysticks, and also providing exceptional anti-drift performance
- Programmable Rear Buttons: Four fully programmable rear buttons with ergonomic design
- Dual-Mode Triggers: Seamless switching between micro-switch triggers with short travel and TMR sensor triggers with full travel
Owning equipment and unlocking its tier are separate. An offer or event can give you a Mech or Weapon from a locked tier; you can still use that item in battle even though the tier itself remains locked. See Plarium Support’s Market overview and Gear Hub FAQ for the tier system and related details.

Mechs have distinct abilities and play styles, while Weapons are configurable equipment. The game also lists Mods, Pilots, and cybernetic Implants among its customization systems. Those descriptions help explain what each item does; they do not establish a universally best beginner build or upgrade order.

Plarium’s official game page and support index document these equipment and customization categories, but do not provide a definitive upgrade sequence, precise cost comparisons, or evidence that one option is best for every new player. Avoid treating general build recommendations as rules when the game’s current descriptions and balance are what matter.
