Start with the exact movie, not the studio catalog
Search the film’s full title in the streaming apps available where you live. For a Warner Bros. movie, HBO Max is a useful first check; for a Paramount movie, try Paramount+. Then verify the listing in the app itself before paying for a subscription. The current guidance from HBO Max confirms that its catalog includes select Warner Bros. movies, not the entire studio library. HBO Max’s catalog guidance also notes that some movies and shows are available for a limited time.
- Check your country: Streaming rights and catalogs vary by territory, so a title listed in one country may not be available where you watch.
- Check the specific listing: A studio’s connection to a service is a starting point, not proof that a particular movie is included.
- Check the terms before subscribing: Compare the service’s current price and catalog with the movie or movies you want; do not assume a subscription includes every film from either studio.
How to find Warner Bros. movies leaving HBO Max
HBO Max provides a Last Chance row for titles that are leaving. Look for it in the app or on the service’s website, and use the service’s current help instructions if the interface has changed. HBO Max lists directions for finding the row on phones, tablets, computers, and TVs on its catalog and Last Chance help page.
If the film is marked as leaving, watch it before the date shown or search for another current listing. Availability can change, so check again close to the time you plan to watch.

Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery announced a plan to combine Paramount+, HBO Max, and Pluto as part of Paramount’s proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The companies announced an anticipated closing date of October 30, 2026; as of October 4, 2026, that date was still in the future. An Associated Press report dated September 30 said a federal judge approved Paramount’s settlement with states, allowing the merger to soon close, but did not establish that it had already closed by October 4. The companies’ closing-date announcement and the Associated Press status report provide that dated context.
The announced plan is not a title-by-title streaming map. Paramount said the studios intend to continue licensing films and shows on their own and third-party platforms. As a result, a change in corporate ownership alone does not establish where any particular movie will stream, when it might move, or whether it will be exclusive to one service. Paramount’s merger announcement describes the plan; it does not guarantee a specific title’s future availability.
