Techland describes Castor Woods as open wilderness for players to explore. Interview coverage also points to several kinds of terrain within the setting: a built-up town center, an industrial park, and national-park areas with cliffs and trees. Why is there no reliable map-size number?
The official game page and the reviewed interview sources do not state Castor Woods’ area in a standard unit. Without a sourced measurement, figures circulating elsewhere should not be treated as verified, and visual impressions cannot establish a precise size.

How does it compare with earlier Dying Light maps?
A direct, measured comparison with Dying Light, The Following, or Dying Light 2 is not established by these sources. The available comparison is qualitative: Castor Woods is described as combining town, industrial, and national-park environments, while Techland’s stated design emphasis is on a crafted sense of place rather than maximum scale.
Franchise director Tymon Smektala told GamesRadar+: “open worlds are not about scale. They’re about your feeling of being there. What versions can you play?
Techland dates the game’s launch to September 18, 2025. Its official FAQ lists PC, PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. The FAQ also says a physical PlayStation 5 release came through Super Rare Games in three editions; it does not establish current stock availability.
