AION2’s Operation Policy lists an Integrated Account Ban as the first sanction for using unauthorized programs. Its definition can cover programs, devices, or equipment that bypass technical protections or interfere with normal operations, including tools that enable actions unavailable to regular users. That does not mean the policy expressly bans every macro or identifies every mouse, keyboard, or remapping feature as prohibited: it does not publish a device-by-device safe list.
What AION2’s policy says about macros
The policy does not define “macro” as a blanket category. Instead, it describes prohibited unauthorized programs by what they do: “Using computer programs, devices, or equipment that circumvent technical protection measures or interfere with normal operations (e.g., programs enabling actions impossible for regular users).” AION2 Operation Policy
That wording makes the setup’s behavior relevant. A feature that repeats, sequences, or triggers game actions automatically is a different risk from a setting that only changes which physical input sends a command. But the policy does not explicitly classify one-to-one remapping as safe, nor does it name approved brands or devices. The cited official materials do not settle whether a particular mouse, keyboard, native feature, or software configuration is allowed.
What penalties are possible?
The policy’s sanctions table places “Use of Unauthorized Programs” under “Integrated Account Ban” at the first-offense level. The same category list separately includes gold farming or bot operations and creating or distributing unauthorized programs. AION2 Operation Policy

An Integrated Account Ban is a permanent restriction on access to all games and related services provided by the company. The policy distinguishes that from a Permanent Game Ban, which applies to AION2 and its related services, and a Temporary Game Ban, which lasts for a specified period.
The first-offense listing is not a guarantee that every case receives an identical outcome. The policy says NC may consider the circumstances and impact on the service when deciding whether to impose a sanction or a lesser one; simultaneous violations may receive cumulative penalties, and repeated offenses or severity may increase penalties. For benefits linked to violations involving unauthorized programs, the policy also allows game-use data to be reset or access to content or connection environments to be restricted. Why automation is an active enforcement concern
NCSOFT has publicly described measures against botting and unauthorized automation. In an announcement dated January 28, 2026, it said the minimum level required to participate in gathering activities had been raised to level 45 “to further limit the use of automated gathering macros.” This is a dated update detail, not confirmation that the game still uses that threshold today. NCSOFT’s anti-bot measures announcement
NCSOFT also said it filed a complaint with Gangnam Police Station on December 12, 2025, against five users over illegal macro-program use. The company said it found repeated use of unauthorized programs and identified additional conduct involving account sales and game-currency distribution; those are the company’s statements, not independently adjudicated findings in the cited announcement. That same announcement reported that 72,621 accounts had been restricted over 23 rounds of operation-policy enforcement since AION2’s launch, as of December 12, 2025. The figure covers operation-policy violations generally, not macros alone, and is not a current total.

- Does it automate inputs? Repeating, sequencing, or automatically triggering actions raises a different concern from changing the input assigned to a single command. No express safe-harbor for remapping appears in the cited policy.
- Does it enable actions regular users cannot perform? That is one of the policy’s stated examples of unauthorized-program behavior.
- Does it bypass protections or disrupt normal operation? These are the policy’s other functional criteria.
- Does it automate gathering or bot-like activity? NCSOFT specifically identified automated gathering macros in its anti-bot announcement.
- Is the behavior repeated, organized, or commercial? The policy separately addresses bot operations and other forms of unfair commercial play.
What to do if you are unsure
- Turn off features that repeat or automate game inputs until you have an answer.
- Ask AION2 support about the exact device and configuration rather than relying on brand reputation, forum anecdotes, or reports that someone else was not penalized.
- Do not treat contacting support or changing a setting as a guarantee against enforcement; the published policy does not promise that either step will protect an account.
