Aion 2’s built-in macro repeats a chosen sequence of skills while you hold its bound key; release the key to stop. Set up the sequence and its key binding separately, then test the result on a practice target before relying on it. Keep movement, emergency responses, interrupts, and other timing-sensitive actions under manual control.
How Aion 2’s built-in macro works
Current third-party guides describe the in-game macro as an ordered sequence of skills that the game attempts while the assigned key is held. According to Aion 2 Meta’s guide, updated October 2, 2026, a skill that is on cooldown is skipped and the macro proceeds to the next entry. This makes the feature a repeated input sequence—not a one-press rotation or autonomous combat.
The behavior and menu labels may vary by client or patch. The setup path below is the one described in the current guide; check your client’s labels rather than assuming they are identical, particularly if you play a different regional version.
Set up the sequence and bind its key
- Open the macro editor. Press K to open the Skill screen, then select the Macro control near the top right to build the sequence, as described by Aion 2 Meta. Add skills in the order you want them attempted.
- Start with a compact core. Choose a few repeatable skills with a clear purpose, rather than pasting in a long rotation. A short sequence is easier to inspect when something fails and easier to retest after a skill or patch change. The AION 2 Field Manual Community Edition’s Macro Workshop likewise recommends short, reliable sequences.
- Assign the activation key separately. Go to Settings → Key Settings → General → Gameplay → Macro and choose a key you can comfortably hold. A configured sequence will not run from your preferred key unless the Macro action is bound; Aion 2 Meta says no key is assigned by default. Confirm the path and labels in your client.
- Choose a delay cautiously. Guides mention a 10 ms setting, but the available sources do not establish it—or any other value—as a universal recommendation. AllThingsHow describes delay adjustments as community advice, not an official standard. Begin with a value available in your client and adjust only if a controlled test shows missed activations.
A side mouse button can make a hold-to-repeat key more comfortable, but it is optional; a regular keyboard key works if it suits your setup. Gamers Together discusses side-button use for the built-in macro. This refers to binding the in-game action, not a need for external keyboard or mouse automation.

Test the macro without risking your rotation
- Use a training dummy or another practice target. Hold the bound key and watch the sequence rather than assuming it ran correctly. Check whether skills activate, whether the sequence stalls, and whether its order produces the intended chain. Aion 2 Meta specifically recommends checking for skipped skills and flow.
- Change one thing at a time. If a skill is missed, inspect its position in the sequence and the delay setting before changing several entries at once. Retest after each adjustment so you can tell which change affected the result.
- Validate for your character and current skill setup. Do not assume a sequence tested on another character will work the same way for yours. The Field Manual recommends per-character validation and cautions that menu and delay behavior should be confirmed on the Global client.
- Retest after relevant changes. Repeat the practice check after changing the sequence or skills, switching regional clients, or installing a patch that could affect skill behavior. Community examples can become outdated when class skills or their order change.
A community workshop suggests comparing manual and macro runs on the same target, but this is a proposed way to inspect your own setup, not a verified performance result. The available guides do not establish that a particular macro or delay increases damage for every class or player.

Use repeatability and decision-making as your guide. A skill may suit a compact macro core when you want it attempted regularly and its use does not depend on a moment-to-moment choice. Leave actions manual when their value depends on positioning, danger, or encounter timing.

- Consider keeping manual: emergency defense, interrupts, boss responses, movement or escape tools, and burst cooldowns whose timing depends on your party or the encounter. These are community recommendations to adapt to your class and situation, not a universal class-by-class ranking.
- Check examples before adapting them: the community-maintained Aion 2 Macro Sheet tracks sample class sequences and changes, drawing on community class guides, Taiwan materials, patch notes, and a client database. Treat its examples as starting references, not prescriptions: check their region, patch, progression stage, and character assumptions before using them.
There is no single tested order or delay in these guides that can be prescribed for every rotation. The useful result is a sequence you have observed working on your own character, with encounter decisions left available to you.
