You can’t manually choose a region for standard Battlefield 6 matchmaking using any region selector documented in the available sources. You can, however, filter Portal Community Experience servers by host region. That affects which Portal server you join, not the regular Multiplayer matchmaking queue.
Can you change your matchmaking region in Battlefield 6?
No standard-matchmaking region selector is documented in the available sources. An answer marked as a solution in an EA Forums discussion says Battlefield matchmaking has no region-select option. This is a community forum answer, not an EA Help article or an official developer statement.

EA has separately announced an official Server Browser as a future addition in a Season 5 update. EA says it will give players another way to find matches, not replace matchmaking; the announcement does not say it will let players lock standard matchmaking to a region. Check the Season 5 update and the earlier matchmaking update for the current status, since a roadmap item can change.
How to filter Portal servers by region
The available region filter is for Portal Community Experiences. Follow these steps to find a Portal server hosted in a particular region:

- From the main menu, open Community.
- Select Search Experiences.
- Switch to the Servers tab.
- Filter by host region. If connection quality matters most, sort the results by ping.
- Choose a server that suits your region, mode and connection preference.
EA’s Portal guide describes filtering by host region and searching or sorting Portal experiences and servers. The results are community-created Portal experiences, not a way to force regular Multiplayer matchmaking into a chosen region. The browser also supports other useful comparisons, including player count and map.
Why a Custom Search may not match every preference
Battlefield global community manager Kevin Johnson told GamesRadar that Custom Search prioritizes a player’s selection, then may broaden its search across available servers, match status and region to find an available game sooner. That explanation comes from GamesRadar’s report. It helps explain why a search preference may not be held indefinitely, but it does not establish a manual region selector.

Cross-play is not a region setting
Cross-play changes which platforms can be in your player pool; EA does not document it as a server-region control or a way to improve ping. EA says cross-play is on by default. On PlayStation and Xbox, its setting is at Settings > System > Setup > Cross-play. Turning it off limits play to users on the same platform. EA also says you cannot change the setting while in a party, on a server or after matchmaking has started. See EA’s cross-play support page.

What to do if you need a different region
- For a Portal match: use the host-region filter and compare ping in the Servers tab.
- For standard matchmaking: no documented manual region control is available in the sources cited here. Custom Search may broaden its criteria rather than wait indefinitely for every preference.
- For cross-play: change it only if you want to change the platform pool; it is not a documented fix for region or latency.
