Start with the version, platform, and scope of the problem
Before changing more settings or attempting save recovery, note your platform (PC, PlayStation, Xbox, or Mac), installed game version, what stopped working, and whether it happens in one save or location or across the game. Record the exact action immediately before the symptom appeared. This information helps distinguish a version-specific bug from a local or recurring issue; it is diagnostic framing, not a confirmed fix.

At the dates of the cited notices, the newest surfaced hotfix is version 2.03.02, published September 23, 2026. Check that it has actually reached your platform before assuming a listed fix applies. The Known Issues notice was last updated September 21, 2026, so it predates that hotfix.
Why can’t I interact with NPCs or objects?
Pearl Abyss’ September 21, 2026 Known Issues notice lists cases where interaction with NPCs, mounts, or specific objects may become unavailable. Its stated workaround is to restart the game; the publisher describes this as a temporary resolution, not a permanent general repair. If the issue returns, record the location, affected character or object, platform, and circumstances of recurrence.

Why is my quest or Abyss progress no longer advancing?
Look for a fix matching the exact quest, area, and trigger rather than treating all blocked progress as the same bug. Pearl Abyss’ version 2.03.02 notes say the update fixed an Ether Rest Abyss blocker in which a power core was not detected, a Grimnir quest character missing in certain situations, and missing map icons for newly discovered objects in some regions. These are specific fixes, not evidence that a similar symptom in another quest has the same cause.
Older version 1.02.00 notes also report fixes for a Chapter 6 progression block after saving and loading, a quest block related to selling an item, a missing key in Chapter 11, and an Abyss puzzle reset condition. Those notes document what that patch fixed; they do not guarantee recovery of a current save or establish a general cause for progress loss after changing the world. The cited official sources do not give a universal save-recovery sequence for arbitrary blockers. Avoid deleting or editing saves based on guesswork.

Why did my FPS drop after changing settings?
First identify the platform, graphics mode, V-Sync state, display refresh rate, and whether variable refresh rate (VRR) is supported and enabled. Pearl Abyss’ March 23, 2026 console note describes a specific case: Balanced Mode with V-Sync could lock the frame rate at 30 FPS when it fluctuated between 30 and 40 FPS. For smoother play above 40 FPS, the publisher advised enabling 120 Hz where supported or disabling V-Sync in a VRR-supported environment.
Apply that advice only if its conditions fit your setup. The same note says 120 Hz output requires a capable display and sufficient bandwidth, citing HDMI 2.1 as an example. It is an older, platform-specific recommendation, not a universal performance fix. If the symptom is visual rather than a frame-rate drop, check the current issue list as well: Pearl Abyss currently lists an FSR4 upscaling issue in rainy environments that may make rain disappear or the screen blurry or distorted. The notice does not state a workaround for it.

How do I report a Crimson Desert bug?
PC: submit diagnostic material with PERS
Pearl Abyss’ PERS support article says the tool can submit error dumps, logs, screenshots, save data, and hardware specifications. For Steam and Epic users, the article directs players to run PERS.exe from the game’s bin64 directory, submit the report, then include the resulting unique ID in the issue survey. Pearl Abyss says, “We strongly recommend using this method, as it provides us with the most detailed information.”
For an issue without a listed fix
Use the publisher’s reporting channel and provide the platform, installed version, exact steps that produce the issue, location, and relevant screenshot or video. Note whether it affects one save or multiple saves and include the save state where appropriate. Do not assume an unlisted problem has a known fix. Pearl Abyss’ Known Issues notice says its team is actively investigating the listed issues and working to resolve them; it does not promise a specific resolution time.
