Rockstar released Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 2 on May 6, 2025, when the game was scheduled to launch a little over a year later, on May 26, 2026. That date has since been replaced: Rockstar now lists November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The newer official video feature is An Extended Look, dated August 27, 2026—not a newly released third numbered trailer.
When did the GTA 6 trailer drop?
Trailer 2 was released on May 6, 2025. Rockstar’s announcement, carried by Take-Two Interactive, said: “Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 2 is now playing everywhere.” It also said the trailer footage was captured on PlayStation 5; that production note does not establish what the finished game’s performance or graphics will be.
At the time, Rockstar said the game was set to launch May 26, 2026. That was the planned date announced alongside the trailer, not the current release date. Read the May 6, 2025 Trailer 2 announcement.
When is GTA 6 coming out now?
Rockstar currently lists November 19, 2026, as the release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Take-Two announced that date on June 24, 2026, alongside the start of pre-orders the following day. The November date supersedes the May 26, 2026 date announced in 2025; as with any announced launch date, it remains subject to change. Rockstar’s GTA VI page lists the current date and platforms.

What came after Trailer 2?
Rockstar’s official GTA VI page lists An Extended Look, dated August 27, 2026, after Trailer 2 and Trailer 1 in its video features. Rockstar announced on August 6 that the feature would be available on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET and on Rockstar’s YouTube channel and GTA VI site at 9 p.m. ET on August 27. Its title distinguishes it from a numbered trailer: the official page reviewed for this article lists Trailer 1, Trailer 2 and the Extended Look, not a newer numbered trailer.
