Yes. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom stars Princess Zelda as the playable lead. When mysterious rifts swallow Link and other people, Zelda sets out across Hyrule with Tri and uses the Tri Rod to create echoes—copies of objects and monsters she has encountered.
What is Echoes of Wisdom about?
Rifts are opening across Hyrule and taking people and pieces of the kingdom. Link is among those who disappear, leaving Zelda to investigate the crisis. Nintendo’s June 18, 2024 announcement explicitly describes Zelda as the character players control: Nintendo’s announcement.
How does Zelda’s Tri Rod work?
Zelda can learn echoes by encountering objects or enemies, then use the Tri Rod to recreate them. Nintendo describes echoes as a way to solve puzzles and fight; its examples include making water blocks to reach high ledges, stacking beds into bridges, throwing rocks, and summoning monster copies to battle alongside Zelda. Nintendo’s game page and its September 20, 2024 overview also describe Bind and Reverse Bond, which let Zelda connect to objects and move with or follow them, as well as a temporary swordfighter form.
Nintendo also lists exploration, side quests, dungeons, puzzles, bosses, outfits, smoothie ingredients, and automaton building among the game’s features. These are publisher-described features rather than independent gameplay-test findings. In its overview, Nintendo sums up the premise: “Zelda is front and center this time around, and her journey is packed with adventure, peril, questing, and many, many echoes…”

What system is Echoes of Wisdom on, and when did it come out?
Echoes of Wisdom launched for Nintendo Switch on September 26, 2024, according to Nintendo’s release announcement. Nintendo’s US store lists a physical edition and says the game is supported on Nintendo Switch 2 with behavior consistent with Nintendo Switch; its page also notes a free update to enhance the experience on Switch 2. Check Nintendo’s current product information for the latest update details.
Nintendo UK lists both a game card and a download version. Its UK product page gives the download size as 5,725 MB; that is regional store metadata, not a universal file-size guarantee. Regional availability, prices, and stock can change.

- Hyrule Edition Switch Lite: Nintendo announced a gold Nintendo Switch Lite: Hyrule Edition for the game’s September 26, 2024 launch. The console listing says the game is not included, so it is not a game bundle.
- Optional compatibility: Nintendo UK lists Pro Controller compatibility and says compatible Zelda-series amiibo can provide items such as smoothie ingredients and outfit looks. The page does not say either accessory is required.
