The Starfield Mantis puzzle code is TYRANNIS—a word, not a number. Cross the lettered floor by stepping on T, Y, R, A, N, N, I, then S. The clue is “Sic Semper Tyrannis,” associated with Leon Voclain.
How to start The Mantis quest
Loot the Secret Outpost! datapad during a Spacer encounter, then read it to activate the quest. Bethesda’s quest overview describes the datapad as obtained from Spacers above level 5; it is an encounter loot trigger, not a guaranteed reward from one particular early mission. How to solve the Mantis floor puzzle
- Save before entering the letter-panel floor if you want a recovery point.
- Cross by stepping on the panels in this order: T → Y → R → A → N → N → I → S.
- Avoid stepping on other letters. Wrong panels activate the lair’s defenses.
The phrase clue, “Sic Semper Tyrannis,” points to TYRANNIS. Although some pages mention “0451,” the walkthrough sources for the base-game letter-panel puzzle give TYRANNIS, not a numeric keypad code.
