Yes. In Fallout 76, use a Punch Card Machine to reassign your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. points and change your selected Perk Cards. S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Loadouts unlock at level 25, the changes are free, and each character can save up to two loadouts.
How to respec in Fallout 76
- Find a Punch Card Machine. Interact with one to open the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Loadout system.
- Change your build. Reassign your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. points and select the Perk Cards you want equipped.
- Save the setup if you want to use it again. Store it in a loadout slot, then return to a Punch Card Machine when you want to switch to a saved configuration.
Bethesda’s Locked & Loaded update notes, published April 27, 2021, describe using Punch Card Machines to reset S.P.E.C.I.A.L., change Perks, and save the setup in one of two custom loadouts.
When can you respec, and what does it cost?
Loadouts become available at level 25, and Bethesda describes changing S.P.E.C.I.A.L. and Perk Cards through the system as free. You do not have to wait until level 50 to use it.
How to build a Punch Card Machine in your C.A.M.P.
At level 25, you learn the plan for a Punch Card Machine. To place one in your C.A.M.P., open the Build menu, go to Crafting, select Punch Card Machine, and place it. Bethesda’s Newcomers Guide also confirms level-25 access to S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Loadouts.

How the level-50 level-up choice differs
Respeccing at a Punch Card Machine is separate from the choice you get when leveling up after level 50. Bethesda Support explains that a post-50 level-up lets you choose either to change your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. point allocation or to select a new Perk Card; it does not describe that level-up choice as a substitute for the loadout system.
Useful ways to use two loadouts
Use the slots to keep distinct configurations ready—for example, one for combat and another for crafting. Each can have its own S.P.E.C.I.A.L. allocation and selected Perk Cards. These are flexible saved setups, not permanent character choices; use a Punch Card Machine to edit or switch between them.
