The closest match is Dead Drop Studios’ 2020 rollout of its Outbreak survival-horror games on PS4: Outbreak: The New Nightmare was scheduled first, with the series’ other titles following through October. The official announcement invoked Silent Hill as a point of comparison for its retro style, not as an affiliated game or new release.
What was the Halloween survival-horror release?
In an August 26, 2020 post, PlayStation.Blog announced that Outbreak: The New Nightmare would be the first Outbreak title to arrive on PS4. Dead Drop Studios described it as a retro-style survival-horror game drawing on conventions associated with 1990s releases. What kind of game is Outbreak: The New Nightmare?
The announcement lists fixed camera views, strict inventory management and optional tank controls. It says the game contains 16 scenarios spread across Campaign, Onslaught Mode and Experiments Mode. Survivors have different starting equipment and abilities, and can gain abilities as they progress.
Dead Drop Studios described a survival loop built around searching for supplies, conserving ammunition and consulting maps to plan routes. Written logs and environmental clues help players solve puzzles. Each scenario has a single life: if a survivor dies, the player returns to the beginning of that scenario. These are details from the publisher’s announcement, not independent review findings.

When were the Outbreak games scheduled to arrive on PS4?
The announcement presented the following 2020 schedule. These are historical release dates, not upcoming dates:

Does Silent Hill have an official connection to Outbreak?
The announcement provides no evidence of an official connection or affiliation. It compares Outbreak: The New Nightmare’s retro presentation and mechanics to conventions associated with 1990s survival horror, naming Silent Hill and Resident Evil as examples.
