If you want another game with Silent Hill’s mix of psychological unease, exploration and danger, start with SIGNALIS. It is the clearest match here for survival-resource management alongside puzzles, nightmarish creatures and themes of identity and memory. For a different kind of psychological horror, The Medium builds its puzzles around two worlds; Amnesia: The Bunker shifts the focus to first-person survival pressure.

Which game should you play after Silent Hill?

“Like Silent Hill” can mean a story about guilt or identity, scarce supplies and vulnerable combat, dreamlike imagery, or simply a oppressive atmosphere. These picks share parts of that mix, but they approach horror differently.

Game Best fit What it shares with Silent Hill How it differs
SIGNALIS Psychological sci-fi survival horror Psychological themes, puzzles, creatures and resource management Its aesthetic leans into retro technology and cosmic dread.
The Medium Dual-world exploration and puzzles Psychological mystery and supernatural horror Its central hook is exploring the real and spirit worlds at once.
Amnesia: The Bunker Immediate first-person survival pressure Vulnerability, danger management and oppressive surroundings It is a first-person horror game set in a sandbox bunker; detailed comparisons are not established by the available official listing.

SIGNALIS: the closest outside-series match

SIGNALIS is the strongest first choice if you want psychological unease and survival systems in the same game. PlayStation describes it as classic psychological survival horror, with resource management, puzzles, nightmarish creatures and cosmic dread. Its themes include identity and memory, making it a good fit for players drawn to the inward, interpretive side of Silent Hill as well as its danger and exploration.

The difference is its retro-tech science-fiction aesthetic: expect a distinct setting and flavor of unease rather than a direct imitation of Silent Hill. PlayStation’s U.S. page lists the game for PS4 and says it is playable on PS5; check the store page for current price and availability: SIGNALIS on PlayStation.

The Medium: psychological horror across two worlds

Choose The Medium if exploring a supernatural mystery and solving puzzles matter more to you than matching Silent Hill’s survival-resource loop. Bloober Team describes it as a third-person psychological horror game in which the player explores the real and spirit worlds at once, solves puzzles that use both realities, and survives encounters with The Maw.

The dual-world premise gives exploration and puzzles a different emphasis from SIGNALIS’s explicit resource management. The official site names Akira Yamaoka and Arkadiusz Reikowski as co-composers, and lists PC, Xbox and PS5 purchase paths as well as a physical retail edition. See The Medium’s official site for the available purchase options.

Amnesia: The Bunker: first-person survival tension

Amnesia: The Bunker is the adjacent pick for someone who wants a more immediate survival challenge. PlayStation’s listing characterizes it as a first-person horror game built around exploring a sandbox bunker to improve your chances of survival. That makes it a useful choice if danger management and feeling exposed are the priority, rather than the particular psychological themes or puzzle approach of the other recommendations.

The available listing does not establish enough detail for a fuller comparison of its mechanics, platforms or current availability. Check the relevant store page for current information: Amnesia: The Bunker on PlayStation.

If you have not played Silent Hill 2, try the 2024 remake

If your Silent Hill experience comes from another installment, Silent Hill 2 (2024) is the same-series route rather than an outside recommendation. Konami describes it as a full remake of the 2001 PlayStation 2 original, released for PS5 and PC on 8 October 2024. Its story follows James Sunderland through guilt, grief and existential horror.

The remake expands areas, changes the perspective to over-the-shoulder, revises combat and adds cut scenes, so it is not simply the original with updated visuals. Konami’s pages provide the Silent Hill 2 game details and the release announcement.
