What the Diablo II VR mod changes
The mod targets Diablo II: Resurrected, Blizzard’s remaster, rather than the original 2000 game. In a Reddit post, its creator describes “first-person view, real stereo 3D (both eyes are rendered by the game, nothing faked from a flat picture), and your hands are tied to the motion controllers.” The post also mentions movement options. The creator’s post is the source for those feature descriptions; they are not an independent test of the mod.
The core shift is perspective and input: instead of looking down on the battlefield, players see it from the character’s viewpoint, while their hands are represented through motion controllers. That changes how the game is experienced, but the available information does not establish how every class, ability, or combat interaction works in VR.
Can you play the whole game in VR?
That has not been definitively established by the available sources. The creator’s post does not confirm that the entire campaign can be completed in VR, and there is no independent full-playthrough verification here. Treat the project as a mod with the features its creator describes, not as a confirmed VR conversion of every part of the game.

It is an offline-only community project
The creator says the mod is offline only. Do not use it for online play or with an account you value. This is a community project, not an official Blizzard VR mode, and its current build or compatibility may change over time.
What you need to know before trying it
The creator names FlatVR and BodyWalk in the setup. FlatVR’s official download page says it requires a VR headset and supports SteamVR or an OpenXR runtime. That establishes a general headset and runtime requirement for FlatVR, not compatibility with a particular headset for this Diablo mod. The mod’s exact setup requirements have not been confirmed here.

BodyWalk’s project page is also named by the creator, but the available information does not establish precisely how it is used in this mod. Likewise, FlatVR lists a free download and paid licence features, but there is no confirmation that a licence is required for the Diablo mod or which FlatVR features it uses.
