Blizzard’s 2023 Overwatch 2 Season 5 reveal centered on a high-fantasy adventure called Questwatch. Its featured Mythic was Adventurer Tracer, with a staged Premium Battle Pass unlock; Blizzard also named several other fantasy-themed skins and outlined seasonal challenges and a creator-made mode.
Which Overwatch Season 5 is this?
This is Blizzard’s 2023 Season 5 reveal, not the separate Season 5 announced in October 2026. The later announcement, Feed Your Hunger in Reign of Talon – Season 5: A Grim Doctrine, covers different content. The shared season number can make the two easy to confuse.
What was the Season 5 theme?
Blizzard framed the 2023 season as a high-fantasy role-playing adventure. Its seasonal story, Questwatch, took place in a kingdom called Overland and followed Tracer and friends as they faced Demon Lord Reinhardt. Players progressed through the season Battle Pass to unlock story chapters. Blizzard’s Season 5 announcement introduced the theme and seasonal content.
A follow-up director’s article said nearly every Season 5 Battle Pass skin was based on the season theme, responding to requests for more season-themed cosmetics. It also discussed changes to Mythic skins.

The staged unlock let players equip the base Mythic during the season while continuing to earn its customizations.
