GRYPHLINE says Arknights: Endfield’s free “Sanctuary of Ink” update and Steam release are planned for October 15, 2026. The official Steam listing currently shows October 14, 2026 as the planned release date; the sources do not explain the one-day difference. The update adds a story chapter set inside Si’s painting, two playable Operators, a new combat challenge, and an inn-and-farm activity.
When does Arknights: Endfield come out on Steam?
GRYPHLINE’s October 6 announcement schedules both the “Sanctuary of Ink” update and the Steam release for October 15, 2026. The official Steam store listing currently gives October 14, 2026 as the planned release date. The discrepancy is unresolved: neither source confirms why the dates differ, so a time-zone explanation should not be assumed.
The publisher says the game originally launched on January 22, 2026. Before Steam, it was available on PS5, PC through GRYPHLINK and the Epic Games Store, and iOS and Android. GRYPHLINE says cross-platform progression will let existing players continue their adventures on Talos-II through Steam. The announcement does not spell out account-linking steps or regional and server qualifications.
What does the Sanctuary of Ink update add?
A chapter inside Si’s painting
The story brings the injured Endministrator to Yuanyuan Manor Inn, where Si—described by the publisher as a Feranmut Proxy—offers a place to recover. The inn is inside a landscape painting Si created. Strange events in the mountains lead into a story connection reaching back a decade, as players explore the painted world, encounter creatures formed from objects in the artwork, and face a further trial.

Every stroke made with it quietly changes the daily lives of the creatures within the painted world, bringing warmth and life back to this long-silent scroll.”
Two playable Operators
Si and Argent Flow are scheduled to arrive in successive recruitment events during the update. Si’s Inksoul mechanic draws an Inksoul from an enemy; damage and effects applied to that entity transfer to the original enemy. That gives her a way to keep attacking when the source moves out of reach, or to interrupt a charging attack by using a skill on the Inksoul. GRYPHLINE says she strengthens Cryo and Heat teammates.

Indigo Experimental Operation
Contingency Contract returns as Indigo Experimental Operation. Players select modifiers that pair advantages with tactical restrictions. One example increases combo-skill damage but prevents additional combo skills after every two casts. Some modifiers also add enemy attack patterns, changing the encounter rather than only adjusting its numbers. The publisher says it has improved challenge-setting selection and reuse in response to player feedback.

This activity combines running a countryside inn with farm management. Players grow crops, raise animals, cook with farm produce for guests, earn funds, and use those earnings to expand the farm and inn. Operating themes introduce more recipes. An Auto-Farmer helps with sowing and harvesting, and access extends to Wuling’s farming area as the story progresses.
Quality-of-life changes

- The ability to place field equipment directly using facilities or construction materials held in the depot, rather than carrying them in backpacks.
Music and sound
The update’s Eastern fantasy setting informs music that the announcement says combines color bass, afrobeat, and UK garage. Named contributors include composer Zhai Jinyan, composer Ludvig Forssell, Chinese avant-garde electronic band 8:48, and returning musician Crywolf.

Steam lists the game as a free-to-play 3D real-time strategy RPG, with Hypergryph as developer and GRYPHLINE as publisher. The listing identifies single-player and in-app purchases, and says a GRYPHLINE account is required and can be linked to a Steam account. It also states that the game uses kernel-level Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE), which requires manual removal after uninstall.
The Steam page lists 60 GB of available storage for both its Windows minimum and recommended specifications. Store details, including system requirements and the planned date, can change; check the listing near launch for the current information. The publisher has not provided regional maintenance windows or a download size in the cited announcement.
