It modifies NVIDIA App’s local ApplicationStorage.json file so the app can expose DLSS Override controls for detected games that are not on NVIDIA’s official supported-title list.
But “for all games” needs a substantial asterisk. The tool does not install DLSS, replace game files, add AI models, or make every PC game compatible. It mainly bypasses NVIDIA App’s whitelist restrictions for games that already contain a compatible DLSS feature.
The short version
DLSS Override For All Games is a small graphical utility hosted on GitHub. According to its repository, it edits NVIDIA App’s ApplicationStorage.json, changes several override-disable flags, and creates a backup so the modification can be reverted.
That makes it a configuration workaround—not a DLSS mod. If a game has no DLSS Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, DLAA, or Frame Generation implementation for NVIDIA App to work with, this tool cannot create one.

For officially supported games, NVIDIA’s own controls should be the first option. The NVIDIA App now includes global and per-game DLSS Override settings, reducing the need for this community utility. Its remaining niche is games that NVIDIA App recognizes but does not currently whitelist for those controls.
What NVIDIA DLSS Override actually does
DLSS Override lets NVIDIA App apply certain newer DLSS options to compatible games without requiring the game developer to ship a separate update for every model or mode. Depending on the title, GPU, driver and app version, available controls can include:
- DLSS Transformer Model Upgrade for Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction and DLAA on supported GeForce RTX hardware.
- DLSS Frame Generation Model Upgrade for RTX 40- and RTX 50-series GPUs.
- DLSS Multi Frame Generation Override for RTX 50-series GPUs when Frame Generation is already enabled in the game.
- DLAA or Ultra Performance modes in some games that do not expose those choices natively.
- Newer model, mode and input-resolution controls for supported titles.
NVIDIA describes the Transformer model as improving temporal stability, reducing ghosting and preserving more detail in motion. Those are vendor-described benefits, not guarantees: results vary by game, resolution, implementation and settings. NVIDIA’s current feature documentation is available through its DLSS Override support page.
Why a third-party tool was needed
NVIDIA App has historically limited Override controls to games and applications on NVIDIA’s supported or whitelisted list. A title could contain DLSS and still fail to show the relevant controls in the app.

The GitHub utility targets that local eligibility data. Its README identifies these fields:
Disable_FG_Override
Disable_RR_Override
Disable_SR_Override
Disable_RR_Model_Override

The tool scans NVIDIA App’s JSON storage and changes selected disable values from true to false. It can automatically detect the default ApplicationStorage.json location, let you browse to another file, create a backup and optionally mark the edited file read-only.
That explains both what the utility can do and what it cannot do. It changes NVIDIA App’s stored rules about which controls to show; it does not modify the game’s executable, inject shaders, replace nvngx_dlss.dll or supply a missing DLSS implementation.
What “all games” really means
The most accurate interpretation is: all games that NVIDIA App can recognize and that already expose a compatible DLSS-related path.

The tool may be useful when:
- NVIDIA App detects a game but does not display DLSS Override controls for it.
- The game already includes DLSS Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, DLAA or Frame Generation.
- You want to experiment with an override that NVIDIA has not officially enabled for that title.
It cannot guarantee anything for:
- Games with no DLSS integration.
- Games whose renderer or DLSS implementation is incompatible with the driver override.
- Titles with unusual, modified or protected rendering pipelines.
- Features that require hardware your GPU does not have.
NVIDIA’s own instructions repeatedly require the relevant in-game feature to be enabled first. For example, a Frame Generation override requires Frame Generation to be active in the game, while a Super Resolution override requires Super Resolution to be enabled. Unlocking a menu item is not the same as making the underlying feature work.
NVIDIA’s official method should come first
NVIDIA now provides Global Settings for applying DLSS preferences across compatible titles, including compatible games detected in the future. The documented paths are:
- All compatible titles:
Graphics > Global Settings - One game:
Graphics > Program Settings > Driver Settings
For an officially supported game:
- Install a compatible NVIDIA driver and NVIDIA App version.
- Open NVIDIA App and select Graphics.
- Choose Global Settings or Program Settings.
- Open Driver Settings.
- Select the relevant DLSS Override option.
- Click Apply.
- Restart the game.
For the later DLSS 4.5 fixed Multi Frame Generation workflow, NVIDIA documents opting in under Settings > About > Opt In, then selecting Graphics > Program Settings or Global Settings and setting DLSS Override – Frame Generation Mode to Fixed. NVIDIA’s cited support page specifies Game Ready Driver 595.97 WHQL or newer for that feature at the time of its March 31, 2026 update; driver requirements can change, so do not treat that as a universal requirement for every Override feature.
NVIDIA’s Global Settings announcement is covered in its official GeForce article, while current app features are listed in the NVIDIA App release highlights.

How to use the community utility cautiously
The repository lists Python 3.x and PyQt6 as prerequisites. Its basic setup is:
git clone https://github.com/kaanaldemir/dlss-override-for-all-games.git
cd dlss-override-for-all-games
The repository includes a Python file named DLSS Override+.py. The available README describes the graphical interface and its backup behavior, but does not provide a clearly documented packaged executable or a complete current launch command. Use the repository’s own current instructions rather than downloading an unofficial build or guessing at a command.
A sensible precautionary workflow is:
- Close NVIDIA App completely before changing its storage file.
- Keep a separate copy of the original
ApplicationStorage.json. - Download or clone the project from its official GitHub repository.
- Install the stated Python and PyQt6 prerequisites.
- Launch the included GUI according to the repository’s current instructions.
- Confirm that the detected file is the NVIDIA App
ApplicationStorage.jsonyou intend to edit. - Apply the override-unlock operation and retain the generated backup.
- Reopen NVIDIA App and check Graphics > Program Settings or Global Settings.
- Test one compatible game before applying settings broadly.
These are configuration-level precautions, not a guarantee that every title will work. The project is community software, not an NVIDIA-supported utility.
Hardware limits still apply
| Feature | Relevant hardware boundary |
|---|---|
| Transformer model upgrades | Documented for GeForce RTX GPUs generally, subject to the title and feature. |
| Frame Generation model upgrade | Documented for RTX 40- and RTX 50-series GPUs. |
| Multi Frame Generation | Requires RTX 50-series hardware in NVIDIA’s DLSS 4 documentation. |
| DLSS 4.5 6X Multi Frame Generation | NVIDIA describes this as generating five AI frames per traditionally rendered frame and ties it to newer supported-game and driver/app workflows. |
A whitelist workaround cannot give an RTX 20-, 30- or 40-series card Multi Frame Generation. It can expose a setting, but the GPU still determines whether the feature is technically available.

Official settings versus the community tool
| Method | Best for | Risk | Coverage |
|---|---|---|---|
| NVIDIA App Global Settings | Supported titles | Lowest | Compatible whitelisted titles |
| NVIDIA App Program Settings | Testing one supported game | Lowest | Per-title supported controls |
| DLSS Override For All Games | Non-whitelisted detected titles | Higher | Titles NVIDIA App can still recognize and process |
| DLL or profile tools | Advanced experimentation | Varies, often higher | Depends on the specific tool and game |
Use NVIDIA’s settings when the game appears in the supported list, Global Settings already provides what you need, or you want the most supportable setup. The community tool is most relevant when the app detects a title but withholds the controls.
Troubleshooting and rollback
The Override controls do not appear
- Restart NVIDIA App after changing its storage file.
- Confirm that the game is detected by NVIDIA App.
- Check that the utility edited the correct
ApplicationStorage.json. - Verify that the game actually includes the required DLSS feature.
- Consider whether a driver or NVIDIA App update rewrote the file.
- Remember that a whitelist change does not guarantee that NVIDIA will process the title.
The game launches but nothing changes
Enable the relevant DLSS feature in the game, click Apply, and relaunch the title. Make sure the selected override matches the active feature—for example, a Super Resolution model override will not replace a disabled Super Resolution implementation.
Where available, NVIDIA’s overlay can report DLSS information under Alt+Z > Statistics > Statistics View > DLSS.
The game crashes or shows artifacts
Return the affected setting to Use the 3D application setting, or disable only the specific override that caused the problem. Then test the game’s native DLSS model. A successful launch is not proof that an override is rendering correctly; watch for ghosting, shimmering, UI artifacts and unstable image detail.
NVIDIA App stops behaving normally
- Close NVIDIA App.
- Restore the tool-generated backup if it is still valid.
- Remove any read-only attribute applied to the file.
- Relaunch NVIDIA App.
- If necessary, repair or reinstall NVIDIA App and recreate its settings.
The repository warns that its backup can become obsolete if NVIDIA App or another external process changes the file afterward. Keep your own original copy and do not assume an old backup remains a safe restore point.
Verdict
DLSS Override For All Games is real and useful for a narrow problem: exposing NVIDIA App’s Override controls for detected games that are missing from NVIDIA’s official whitelist. It is not a universal DLSS enabler, a DLL replacer or a way to bypass GPU-generation requirements.
Try NVIDIA App’s official Global Settings or Program Settings first. If a game already supports DLSS but NVIDIA App hides the controls, this open-source utility is a reasonable experiment—provided you back up the configuration, expect updates to undo the change, and test the result one title at a time.
