- Secondary: Grekhova.
- Tactical: Stim Shot.
- Lethal: Semtex.
- Field upgrade: Spring Mine.

- Suppressor
- Long Barrel
- Kepler Microflex
- Quickdraw Grip
- Rapid Fire
This is an alternate path, not the same setup as the Compensator and Vertical Foregrip build. Its optic uses an attachment slot, while the Quickdraw Grip favors a different handling choice. What the Tanto .22 is suited to
Activision describes it as a “Full-auto submachine gun. Slow-firing, but hard-hitting, the Tanto .22 is an easy-to-handle SMG with impressive mid-range performance.” That supports using it as a precision-friendly SMG that can carry into mid-range fights; it does not establish an exact ideal engagement distance or show that the weapon leads the current multiplayer meta.

Why older recommendations may not match the live balance
Official patch notes document past balance changes to the Tanto .22 and its attachments. Season 01 notes changed damage ranges and reduced Rapid Fire’s rate-of-fire improvement from 10% to 7%, while increasing its damage-range penalty from 10% to 15%. Season 03 notes made Binary Trigger a more viable alternative by improving its damage ranges, headshot scaling, and recoil control. Season 04 notes adjusted several Tanto .22 attachments, including Rapid Fire, Recoil Springs, Gain-Twist Barrel, Compensator, Ported Compensator, and Vertical Foregrip.
Those changes show why a dated setup should be treated as a starting point. The reviewed official notes do not establish whether later updates changed these choices again, and no authoritative 2026 update confirms a live multiplayer meta build. - For a control- and reach-focused starting point: use the Compensator, Long Barrel, Vertical Foregrip, Commando Grip, and Rapid Fire build.
- For an optic and quicker handling choices while leveling: try the Suppressor, Long Barrel, Kepler Microflex, Quickdraw Grip, and Rapid Fire alternative.
- For a different trigger-based direction: Binary Trigger is an option that Season 03 notes made more viable, but the reviewed evidence does not establish that it is better than either five-attachment setup.
