What each game is about
The Séance of Blake Manor
Set in Ireland in 1897, the game follows investigator Declan Ward as he searches for Evelyn Deane, who has vanished from a remote hotel. The case takes place amid the hotel’s secrets and otherworldly events, making this the clearest pick here if you want a mystery built around investigation rather than action. Steam’s description identifies it as a supernatural detective mystery.
The Run
This interactive-film thriller puts a fitness influencer on the run from masked pursuers in northern Italy. The November 2025 article reported 20 possible deaths and around five endings, along with Roxanne McKee’s starring role and a cameo by Dario Argento. Those branching outcomes make it the choice for players who want decisions and peril to shape a filmed story. Engadget’s roundup is the source for those details.
Orbyss
Solo developer Yannick Audéoud, also known as Misty Whale, centers the puzzle game on an energy firefly that moves between orbs. Time-manipulation and drone puzzles add variety, and the game uses on-screen visual cues for sound-based mechanics—a useful detail for anyone who may not rely on audio cues alone. Engadget’s roundup describes those mechanics.

Death by Scrolling
Terrible Toybox’s vertically scrolling roguelite turns survival into a race upward: earn enough gold to pay a ferryman and escape purgatory. That goal gives the action a clear risk-and-reward hook, rather than making it simply a matter of staying alive. The roundup was published by Engadget on November 1, 2025. Read its description.
Golden Retriever Simple Life
Pablo Coma, working as Rablo Games, planned this FMV pet-care game around his dog Pichu. Its activities include feeding, training, playing, taking walks and teaching tricks. It is the gentlest-sounding concept in the group, focused on hands-on care rather than horror or combat. Engadget’s November 2025 article outlined those planned activities.
Rank #2
Egging On
Egobounds’ precision platformer stars an egg trying to escape a farm. Its premise is a sharp contrast with the detective stories and survival games elsewhere in this list: the appeal is the challenge of guiding a fragile protagonist through a platforming escape. The November 2025 description came from Engadget’s roundup.
Anchor
Fearem’s planned multiplayer survival game is set underwater after a nuclear holocaust. Its described systems include base-building and raids, with genetically engineered beings and sharks as threats. The original roundup characterized the server size as a plan, not a confirmed live capacity, so treat that figure as a proposal rather than a verified specification. Engadget’s November 2025 article described the concept.

- Originally Made for classic systems, this specially curated line-up showcases talented developers from around the world.
- From platformers to story-driven horrors - this collection has plenty of depth and variety.
Agni: Village of Calamity
Separuh Interactive’s debut draws on Indonesian folklore. Players take the role of investigator Agni in a remote village, searching for a missing partner while solving puzzles and fighting monsters. Its investigation gives the horror a mystery thread, but the planned release timing and platforms should be checked against current store listings before making a purchase decision. The concept is described in Engadget’s roundup.
The Florist
Unclear Games’ fixed-camera survival horror follows Jessica Park, who delivers flowers to a lakeside town afflicted by a dangerous plant. Alongside puzzles and enemies, the game’s described activities include researching floral specimens—a botanical angle that distinguishes it from a conventional monster-focused setup. These details come from Engadget’s November 2025 article.

Which one should you check out?
- For a confirmed game to start now: The Séance of Blake Manor has the verified Steam release; its announced console date is still ahead as of October 8, 2026.
- For a filmed, choice-driven thriller: The Run is the FMV pick, though check the storefront you use because its current availability was not verified here.
- For something outside horror: try Orbyss for puzzles, Death by Scrolling for roguelite action, Golden Retriever Simple Life for pet care, or Egging On for precision platforming.
- For multiplayer or folklore-tinged survival: the concepts are Anchor, Agni: Village of Calamity and The Florist; confirm their current release status before planning around them.
The list is useful as a genre sampler, but its 2025 release language is not a current launch calendar. The one release status confirmed here is The Séance of Blake Manor on Steam; the other entries need a current store or publisher check.
