AION 2’s published minimum is a Ryzen 5 2600 or Core i5-10500, 8 GB RAM, and a GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB of VRAM. For the recommended tier, Steam lists a Ryzen 7 3700X or Core i7-11700, 16 GB RAM, and an RTX 2070 with 8 GB. Both tiers require 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, DirectX 12, broadband internet, and 100 GB of available storage; Steam recommends an SSD. These are published compatibility tiers, not a promise of a specific frame rate.
AION 2 PC requirements at a glance
Steam’s global store listing and NC Taiwan’s official PURPLE page publish closely aligned baseline requirements, with differences in CPU suffixes, AMD graphics alternatives, and recommended FHD graphics preset. The Taiwan figures below are specific to NC Taiwan’s regional page, not a universal storefront specification.

Steam lists the NVIDIA cards and specifies Low for the recommended FHD tier; NC Taiwan adds the Radeon options and lists Normal for its recommended FHD tier. Use the preset guidance from the distribution page you plan to use rather than treating these settings as one universal recommendation. Steam’s AION 2 listing and NC Taiwan’s PURPLE download and requirements page contain the published specifications.
What the minimum and recommended tiers mean
Minimum: start with Very Low
Steam’s minimum tier pairs a GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB VRAM and 8 GB RAM, alongside one of the listed entry CPUs. Steam’s FHD note says to select Very Low for compatibility. NC Taiwan’s table also lists Very Low at minimum and includes the Radeon RX 470 with 4 GB as an alternative. “Minimum” identifies the published entry tier; it does not establish a frame-rate target or guarantee smooth play on every PC with those parts.

Recommended: a higher published baseline
Steam’s recommended tier moves to an RTX 2070 with 8 GB VRAM and 16 GB RAM, paired with a Ryzen 7 3700X or Core i7-11700. NC Taiwan lists the same NVIDIA GPU and CPU tier, plus an RX 5700 XT with 8 GB. Its FHD table says Normal for the recommended tier, while Steam says Low. Neither source publishes benchmark results or a specific performance guarantee for these configurations.
How to check whether your PC meets the requirements
- Identify your hardware. Check your Windows edition and architecture, CPU model, installed RAM, exact GPU model and VRAM, DirectX support, available storage, and whether the game drive is an SSD. In Windows, Task Manager’s Performance tab shows the processor, memory, and graphics adapter; Windows Settings > System > About shows Windows edition and system type.
- Choose the relevant published tier. Compare your components with the Steam table if you plan to use Steam, or with NC Taiwan’s PURPLE table if that is your intended distribution path. The latter is a Taiwan regional page.
- Compare component by component. A system can meet one threshold and fall short of another. Check the exact GPU model and VRAM rather than relying on a brand or a similar-sounding model number.
- Check storage and installation space. Both pages list 100 GB available and recommend SSD storage. NC Taiwan separately says initial client installation requires approximately 70 GB or more; that client-size figure does not replace the 100 GB available-space requirement.
- Assess upgrades only after checking the whole PC. For a graphics-card change, verify power-supply capacity and connectors, case clearance, and platform compatibility. For an SSD, check whether the PC accepts the drive’s M.2 or SATA interface and form factor, and whether the required slot or connector is free.
What to upgrade if your PC falls short
Use the official tiers as a checklist, not as a parts-buying prescription. Upgrade only where your current hardware is below the tier you are targeting, and account for compatibility and cost before buying.

- RAM: Compare installed memory with the published 8 GB minimum and 16 GB recommended. The official pages do not specify a particular memory kit or configuration.
- GPU: Compare the precise GPU model and VRAM with the listed cards. NC Taiwan’s Radeon alternatives are listed on its regional PURPLE page; the sources do not establish that every nearby model performs equivalently.
- CPU: Compare the processor model with the published tier. The requirements pages do not provide testing that would support a frame-rate estimate for other processors.
- Storage: If space is insufficient or the game drive is a hard drive, consider whether a compatible SSD and enough free capacity would address the shortfall. The pages recommend SSD storage but do not require a particular model or interface.
When comparing two PCs, look at CPU tier, exact GPU and VRAM, RAM, SSD capacity and interface, upgradeability, and total cost—not just the brand name. The sources publish system requirements, not results from tests of individual systems.
