In AION 2, a stacked quick-slot key checks skills from the bottom upward and uses the first available one. Put skills you want to fire whenever ready lower in the stack, and a repeatable filler above them. It is a priority check each time you press the key—not a rotation that cycles through every skill. Keep reactions, held heals, buff timing, and charged attacks on separate keys.

How skill priority works on a stacked quick slot

AllThingsHow’s guide, updated October 6, 2026, reports that a quick slot can hold up to four active skills. When you press that slot, the game checks from the lowest position upward. If the bottom skill is ready and its conditions are met, it is selected. If it is cooling down or unavailable, the game may skip it and check the next skill above.

That means the stack is not a four-step combo: pressing the key does not automatically advance to the next skill. A ready lower skill can be selected again on a later press. The ordering rule is current secondary-source guidance rather than a directly verified official manual, so confirm the behavior in your live client if an update changes it.

What belongs low, high, or on its own key

  • Lower in the stack: cooldown skills or condition-dependent skills you want selected as soon as they become available.
  • Higher in the stack: a suitable repeatable filler to use when the lower-priority skill is unavailable.
  • On a separate key: skills whose timing you must choose, such as a defensive response, a heal you may need to hold, a buff to synchronize, or a charged attack.

Do not treat this as a universal class rotation. The right choices depend on your class, activity, and the skills’ current conditions.

Set up and test a priority stack

  1. Choose the activity and class. Decide whether you are setting up for PvE, PvP, or another specific activity; do not copy a different class or mode’s setup without checking its requirements.
  2. Read each candidate skill’s tooltip. Note its cooldown, resource cost, and activation conditions. Make sure the current target and resource state can satisfy those conditions.
  3. Arrange one quick-slot stack. Place the skill you want to fire whenever ready in a lower position, with a repeatable filler above it. Keep timing-sensitive skills separate.
  4. Test against a controlled target. Change one thing at a time and check whether the expected skill appears. Keep the key usable for movement and reactions rather than putting every action behind one input.
  5. Compare damage carefully, if that is your goal. Use the same target, equipment, buffs, and measurement mode for each comparison. Palpikt’s October 6, 2026 global PC guide describes an in-game damage-measurement window, while noting that its output does not measure every support or encounter responsibility.

A priority stack is not a Skill Macro

A stacked quick slot chooses among skills assigned to one slot when you press its key. The in-game Skill Macro is a separate feature that attempts configured stages in sequence. Palpikt’s global PC guide says manual input takes priority and that a configured sequence is not guaranteed to complete as expected. A macro therefore should not be treated as a fixed, dependable rotation.

First learn the underlying skills through manual use. Add a macro only when you understand what each action requires, then keep the sequence as simple as it needs to be.

When a skill or macro action does not fire

  • Check the skill’s tooltip for its activation condition and resource cost.
  • Confirm that the intended target is selected and that the skill is not on cooldown.
  • Try the skill manually. If it does not work manually, changing macro order or delays will not solve the underlying condition.
  • Shorten the macro and test its stages to isolate where the sequence stops behaving as expected.
  • Check the class-specific follow-up requirements; different skills may require different conditions.

Why class and mode matter

A generic order cannot establish an optimal named-skill rotation for every class. In an announcement dated March 25, 2026, NCSOFT reported class balance adjustments, new Stigma skills, a maximum of five Stigma slots, and separate PvP and PvE damage calculations. Those changes make recommendations sensitive to both mode and patch; the announcement does not prescribe which skill a player should prioritize today.

Palpikt’s guide covers the global PC launch and points to NC’s controls, settings, skills, macro, and damage-measurement materials. It distinguishes active inputs from passive and Stigma skills, but does not provide a universal list of priority skills. Menu labels can also vary by language and player bindings.
