There are 18 masks to find in REANIMAL, spread across Chapters 1–4 and 6–8. This spoiler-forward route lists each mask by its location and the action needed to reach it. Some guides use different names for the same-looking masks, so landmarks are included to help identify them. Masks are cosmetic collectibles and count toward the Beneath the Mask trophy or achievement.

Chapter 1: Dead in the Water — 3 masks

  1. Owl / Bird Head: After the early sewer and platform section, take the curved upper walkway to the left. Go through the door, squeeze through the crack in the wall, and check by the crate.
  2. Brain / Worm Head: After the rotating-cylinder or boiler puzzle, enter the locker room. Look for the steaming locker, go through the concealed washroom it reveals, and search near the sink.
  3. Scarecrow / Conch Head: Near the rail cart, also called a draisine, take the optional door on the right and follow the walkway to the storage room.

Chapter 2 — 2 masks

  1. Pig Head: In the clothing shop, go behind the counter and crawl through the gap in the wall to reach a concealed room.
  2. Cone / Traffic Cone: After the cinema and crowbar sequence, follow the cone-wearing creature into the nearby side area. Defeat it and collect the dropped mask.

Chapter 3 — 1 mask

  1. Deer Head: In the yellow-flower field, head left toward the fence and scarecrow. Strike the scarecrow, then defeat the creature that appears to get the mask.

Chapter 4 — 3 masks

  1. Bucket Head: In the orphanage, take the hidden route near the curtains and bookcase. Chase and defeat the creature carrying the bucket.
  2. Crown Head: In the room with enemies and stacked boxes, stop the crowned enemy as it tries to escape. Defeating it is also described as a way to claim the mask.
  3. Potato / Plant Head: After the needle-throwing section, squeeze into the corridor, turn back toward the camera, and crawl through the concealed gap.

Chapter 6 — 4 masks

  1. Fish Head: Around the truck crash and button-puzzle area, take the side route before finishing the puzzle. Search the beach for the mask-carrying creature.
  2. Sack / Package Head: At the beached battleship, drive to the right, clear the sea mines, and search the small beach area for a crate.
  3. Diver Helmet 1: After placing the eyeball in the whale’s socket, pick up one of the helmets left by the characters.
  4. Diver Helmet 2: Pick up the other helmet in the same spot. Each helmet counts as its own mask.

Chapter 7 — 4 masks

  1. Bush Head: Before entering the trench, open the small storefront shutter to the right. Search the room near the crashed plane.
  2. Sea Mine / Mine Head: In the trench, hug the right wall after the rifle scene and squeeze through the gap into the room containing the mask.
  3. Rabbit Head: In the open trench area with the large soldier above, enter the gap in the left wall. The mask is in the shrine room after the Rabbit Shrines are lit. PowerPyx warns that all five Hidden Statues must be found in one playthrough for the final statue to light and grant its mask reward; it says chapter select will not trigger that reward for statues missed earlier. Check the in-game collection tracker as you progress.
  4. Frog Head: After the exploding-locker section, stay in the room and crawl through the gap behind the desk. Check the drawer in the next room.

Chapter 8 — 1 mask

  1. Gas Head: After the key puzzle, open the fallen oven in the next room. Follow the creature it releases back into the previous room, defeat it, and collect the mask.

Chapters without listed mask locations

The consulted location guides do not list mask locations for Chapters 5 or 9. Their chapter tally is 3 in Chapter 1, 2 in Chapter 2, 1 in Chapter 3, 3 in Chapter 4, none listed in Chapter 5, 4 in Chapter 6, 4 in Chapter 7, 1 in Chapter 8, and none listed in Chapter 9.

Names and completion notes

Mask labels vary among guides—for example, Owl/Bird, Brain/Worm, and Potato/Plant—so use the location and landmark as well as the name. The 18-mask count is reported by Prima Games, and PowerPyx also lists 18 masks. The location route is compiled from GamerHour, Prima Games, Rectify Gaming, and PowerPyx; these are secondary guides, not an official publisher checklist.
