Once Human’s construction items are Territory building content: structural pieces, facilities and utilities, furniture and decoration, and defenses. There is no verified, current item-by-item list in the available sources, so this guide explains the confirmed categories and how to check what is actually available in your scenario.
What construction items are in Once Human?
The official Build & Construction Guide describes the construction system by function rather than as a complete inventory. It covers the physical framework of a Territory, useful facilities, decorative pieces, and defensive installations.
- Structures: Foundations, walls, roofs, and other pieces that form a building’s framework. The guide describes construction from foundations to roofs.
- Facilities and utilities: Storage crates and advanced workbenches, as well as generators, electrical connections, fridges, lighting, and automatic doors. Many facilities need electricity to function correctly.
- Furniture and decoration: Examples include tables, chairs, sofas, potted plants, wall hangings, wallpapers, wall art, and lighting fixtures.
- Defenses: Turrets, traps, obstacles, and sensors for protecting a Territory.
These are confirmed types of construction content, not a claim that every item currently available is listed here.
How to find the construction menu
The official guide’s basic direction is to enter construction mode and open the build menu. From there, browse the available structures and other building options. The guide does not document a current, version-specific button sequence, so use the controls displayed in your game.

How to check recipes and availability
For recipe names, materials, and workbench requirements where confirmed, the Once Human Database provides a broad crafting and construction recipe catalogue. It is not a verified exhaustive list of construction items: the database includes historical recipe data, and it notes that invention availability can depend on scenario and server settings.
- Open construction mode and inspect the in-game build menu for the items available to your character.
- Check an item’s current description and recipe in-game before gathering materials; unlocks and costs can vary with scenario or server settings.
- Use the database as a reference for recipes and requirements, not as proof that every displayed item is available on your server.
The community building catalog groups content into structures, facilities, and furniture, but its page is marked as a stub. Treat it as a navigation aid rather than a complete inventory.

- People are strange: we looked through the Internet and collected a load of totally-genuine, totally-weird web searches. So we decided to make a party game out of it.
- Think like a human: each round, you'll hear the first half of an internet search, like 'did dinosaurs...'. It's your job to try and figure out what came next
- Did dinosaurs go to heaven?: The higher your answers rank, the more points you'll score for you and your team - so don't be afraid to think a little weird.
- Easy to learn, quick to play: a party game for adults and teenagers, this one takes about 2 minutes to learn and 20 to play. Recommended for 3+ players and ages 14+.
- What people said: 'for once you'll be glad you didn't delete your internet history!' - @tabletopmag
How to choose what to build
Start with the job the item needs to do, rather than treating the catalog as a ranked list. The official guide supplies functional categories, but does not give quantitative performance comparisons or recommend a best item.
- For the building itself: Compare structural form and material to the layout you want.
- For work and storage: Look at the facility’s purpose, such as crafting, storing items, or preserving food.
- For appearance: Compare furniture, wall treatments, and decorative fixtures by visual style.
- For powered functions: Check whether the facility needs electricity and plan generators and connections accordingly.
- For protection: Consider whether turrets, traps, obstacles, or sensors suit the defensive role you need.
Why an exact complete list is hard to give
The official guide is dated 9 February 2023 and explains the system’s broad concepts, not a current item-by-item inventory or recipe-cost table. The community catalog is incomplete, while the database mixes current and historical recipe information and notes scenario- and server-dependent availability. Exact item availability, recipes, costs, build limits, and blueprint behavior should therefore be checked in the current game rather than inferred from a general list.
