The highest publicly documented crop-mutation multiplier in the references reviewed here is ×240, shared by the fused Cosmic and Abyssal mutations. Among single mutations, Dawnbound is listed at ×150, followed by Voidtouched at ×135, Disco and Meteoric at ×125, and Celestial and Galactic at ×120.
This is a crop-mutation guide, not a pet-mutation list. Gold, Rainbow and Silver are growth variants; weather, time, pets, gear, events and fusions create the rest of the crop-mutation system. Values and availability can change with updates, so entries marked unconfirmed, conflicting or approximate should be checked against the current in-game information before you spend rare items on them.
Reference status: latest publicly indexed material reviewed through August 10, 2026. The community crop-mutation reference is the main source for the formula and compatibility rules, while later event additions were cross-checked against the calculator changelog and event references.
Quick ranking: the most valuable crop mutations
Do not combine single mutations, fused mutations and complete stacks into one ranking. A fused mutation may have a new multiplier of its own, while a crop can also receive a growth variant and compatible environmental effects.

What counts as a crop mutation?
Grow a Garden uses the word mutation for several different systems. They do not all have the same availability or stacking behavior.
- Growth variants: Normal, Ripe, Silver, Gold and Rainbow. These occupy the crop’s growth-variant slot. Silver, Gold and Rainbow compete with one another, while Ripe can coexist with one of them.
- Environmental mutations: effects caused by rain, lightning, wind, snow, heat, the time of day, terrain or other world conditions. Wet, Chilled, Shocked, Aurora and Sundried are examples.
- Pet-applied crop mutations: a pet passive can apply an effect to a crop or its produce. This is different from a mutation on the pet itself.
- Gear-applied mutations: sprinklers, rods, staffs, sprays, mirrors, charms and similar items can create or help target crop mutations.
- Event mutations: seasonal or limited-time effects such as Tidal, Shadow and some Summer Camp mutations.
- Admin mutations: effects associated with admin-triggered weather or events. They may appear in databases without being reproducible by an ordinary player.
- Fused mutations: new effects made by combining existing crop mutations. Cosmic, Abyssal, Frozen and Ceramic are examples.
- Unreleased or development-only entries: names visible in assets or community databases but not reliably obtainable in normal play.
Counts such as there are 30 mutations or there are 100 mutations are not meaningful unless the source states whether it includes fused results, retired events, admin content, unreleased assets and pet mutations. The crop-mutation reference separates standard, limited, admin and unreleased groups.
How crop mutation multipliers are calculated
The established crop-value calculation has two parts: the value contributed by the crop’s base price and weight, and the multiplier contributed by its growth variant and compatible environmental mutations.
Recommended Free Tools
Crop Value = Base Value × (Weight ÷ Base Weight)2
Mutation Multiplier = Growth Variant × (1 + Σ Environmental Mutation Values − Number of Environmental Mutations)
Final Price = Crop Value × Mutation Multiplier
- Base Value is the crop’s unmutated reference value.
- Weight is the actual harvested weight.
- Base Weight is the crop’s reference weight.
- Growth Variant is normally ×1, Silver is ×5, Gold is ×20 and Rainbow is ×50.
- Environmental values are added together inside the stack.
- Number of environmental mutations subtracts the repeated base ×1 term.
Why weight matters so much
Weight is squared. A crop weighing twice its base weight gets a 4× weight factor before mutation effects are applied. A crop weighing three times its base weight gets a 9× factor. This is why a heavy, high-base-value or multi-harvest crop can beat a lighter crop with the same displayed mutation.
Worked example: Gold, Shocked and Frozen
Using Gold ×20, Shocked ×100 and Frozen ×10:
20 × (1 + 100 + 10 − 2) = 20 × 109 = 2,180×
If the crop’s base value and weight produce a pre-mutation Crop Value of 400, the estimated sale value is 400 × 2,180 = 872,000 Sheckles.
Worked example: Rainbow, Shocked and Frozen
50 × (1 + 100 + 10 − 2) = 50 × 109 = 5,450×
The same Crop Value of 400 would therefore produce an estimated 400 × 5,450 = 2,180,000 Sheckles.

Do all multipliers multiply together?
No—not under the established crop formula. A common online claim is that Rainbow ×50 and Shocked ×100 automatically become ×5,000 before other effects. That treats every listed number as an independent multiplicative factor. The crop-mutation formula instead multiplies the growth variant by an additive environmental stack. GAGdata and similar databases may present a different model, so use direct in-game sale-price testing if a calculator disagrees with the formula documented by the crop-mutation reference.
Important: fused outputs are not always calculated by simply leaving every ingredient in the environmental stack. When a recipe creates Cosmic, Frozen, Ceramic or another fused result, follow the recipe’s replacement rule and use the current result value where one is documented.
Complete crop mutation list
The tables below are a research reference rather than a claim that every entry is currently available to every player. Current means the reviewed references give a usable value and source. Limited means an event, pet or special item may be required. Admin means ordinary players may not be able to trigger it. Unconfirmed means the name is documented but the reviewed sources do not establish a reliable current multiplier.
Growth variants
| Mutation or variant | Multiplier | How to obtain | Compatibility and identification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | ×1 | Default crop state | No value boost; ordinary appearance. |
| Ripe | ×1 | Crop-state variant | Can coexist with Silver, Gold or Rainbow; not a value multiplier by itself. |
| Silver | ×5 | Silver Fertilizer, Silver Dragonfly or Cockatrice | Silver appearance; competes with Gold and Rainbow. |
| Gold | ×20 | Approximately 1% natural chance; Dragonfly, Cockatrice, Golden Bee, Super Seed or Gold Fertilizer | Gold appearance; competes with Silver and Rainbow. |
| Rainbow | ×50 | Approximately 0.1% natural chance; Butterfly, Rainbow Fertilizer or Super Seed | Rainbow appearance; can replace the growth variant and some Butterfly-related applications can remove earlier effects. |
| Big or Overgrown | Variable | Random growth and sprinklers | Treat as a size or weight effect, not a fixed mutation multiplier unless the current game UI gives a number. |
The natural Gold and Rainbow chances are approximate and can change. Do not interpret them as guaranteed odds for every crop or every growth cycle.

Compatibility and replacement rules
Growth variants are exclusive. Silver, Gold and Rainbow cannot occupy the same growth-variant slot. Ripe can coexist with one of them.
Wet and Chilled can transform into Frozen. Once the combination becomes Frozen, do not price the crop as though Wet, Chilled and Frozen are three separate environmental bonuses.

Drenched normally replaces Wet. It is not automatically an additional independent water multiplier.
Paradisal replaces Verdant and Sundried. This is why its result must not be calculated by keeping all three as separate effects.

How to obtain crop mutations
Weather and time-based methods
- Rain and Thunderstorm: Wet. Thunderstorms can also create Shocked when lightning strikes.
- Frost and snow: Chilled. Wet or Drenched followed by Chilled can produce Frozen.
- Night and Shooting Stars: Moonlit, with limits on how many plants may be affected during an interval.
- Blood Moon: Bloodlit.
- Sandstorm: Sandy.
- Tropical Rain: Drenched, which generally replaces Wet.
- Heat Wave or Solar Flare: Sundried and, in some circumstances, Verdant-related opportunities.
- Aurora Borealis: Aurora.
- Meteor Shower: Celestial.
- Windy or Gale weather: Windstruck.
- Tornado: Twisted or related storm-chain effects.
- High Tide: Tidal, subject to the live event rules and the unresolved value conflict in current public references.
Pet methods
Examples of important crop-mutation pets and effects include:
- Dragonfly: Gold.
- Butterfly: Rainbow-related transformation; this may replace earlier effects.
- Polar Bear: Chilled or Frozen-related application.
- Chicken Zombie: Zombified.
- Bear Bee: HoneyGlazed.
- Bees and bee-family pets: Pollinated.
- Sea Turtle and Kappa: Wet.
- Scarlet Macaw: Verdant.
- Hyacinth Macaw: Cloudtouched.
- Pterodactyl: Windstruck or Tempestuous-related effects.
- Disco Bee: Disco.
- Space Squirrel: Voidtouched.
- Ascended pet effects: Dawnbound.
- Black Spotty Dragon: Spotty. See the Black Spotty Dragon reference for the source pet.
- Summer-event pets: Ember, Shadow or Tidal-related effects.
Pet abilities can be chance-based, cooldown-based, random-targeted or restricted to specific crop states. The reviewed references do not provide a reliable universal cooldown or guarantee for every pet, so use the ability wording currently shown in-game.
Gear, sprinklers and sprays
- Lightning Rod: helps create opportunities for Shocked.
- Star Caller: Celestial-related application.
- Tanning Mirror: Sundried.
- Night Staff: Moonlit or Bloodlit-related effects.
- Nectar Staff: Pollinated.
- Tranquil Staff: Tranquil.
- Corrupt Staff: Corrupt.
- Fairy Targeter: Glimmering-related application.
- Ice Wand: Snowy.
- Maple Leaf Charm: Wet.
- Honey Sprinkler: HoneyGlazed.
- Chocolate Sprinkler: Choc or Chocolate.
- Mutation sprays: targeted effects such as Wet, Windstruck, Chilled, Pollinated, Sundried, Verdant, Shocked and others, depending on the spray.
Gear improves control or targeting but does not necessarily guarantee the mutation. Check the item’s current tooltip rather than assuming that its name means every nearby crop will be affected.

Best way to farm valuable mutations
Early game
- Use rain, sprinklers and basic weather opportunities to build Wet, Chilled, Moonlit and other low-cost effects.
- Plant crops that can be harvested repeatedly so failed attempts do not consume your entire setup.
- Take natural Gold opportunities when they appear, but do not sacrifice a valuable existing stack for a small increase.
- Prioritize crop base value and weight. Several low-value ×2 mutations do not automatically beat one strong mutation on a valuable crop.
Mid game
- Use pets such as Bear Bee, Dragonfly, Polar Bear, Sea Turtle, Pterodactyl and other targeted mutation providers where available.
- Use sprays and rods to create a controlled target instead of relying entirely on random weather.
- Prepare crops before a known weather or event window. Keep high-value crops growing and avoid filling the garden with disposable low-value plants if the event affects only a limited number of plants.
- Protect growth variants. Gold and Rainbow are valuable, but applying Rainbow through a replacement-prone method can destroy a more useful environmental stack.
Late game and event farming
- Prepare high-base-value, heavy or multi-harvest crops before Meteor Shower, Aurora Borealis, Black Hole, Sun God, Disco and seasonal event windows.
- Build toward compatible recipes such as Frozen, Paradisal, Cosmic, Abyssal and Stormcharged rather than applying random effects in an unplanned order.
- Keep an unmutated backup crop. It gives you a safe target for testing an uncertain pet, spray or event effect.
- Record the crop’s weight, base weight, displayed mutations and sale price. This is more reliable than copying a calculator value from an unknown game version.
- During submission events, reserve at least one qualifying crop before selling the rest. High Tide is an example where Tidal produce could be useful both as a sale item and as event-submission material.
The High Tide Harvest coverage reports the event beginning July 5, 2026, while the Tidal mutation guide provides additional acquisition and strategy context. Its claims about post-event availability should be treated as speculation unless confirmed in-game.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteShould you sell or keep a mutated crop?
| Situation | Best practical choice | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Low-value crop with only Wet, Chilled or another low multiplier | Usually sell if you need Sheckles | The mutation may not justify the garden space or further consumables. |
| High-base-value or unusually heavy crop | Keep and consider compatible mutations | Weight is squared, so additional weight can have a dramatic effect. |
| Rare mutation such as Shocked, Celestial or Voidtouched | Preserve before experimenting | A later pet or gear effect may overwrite, consume or transform it. |
| Crop needed for a quest, Garden Guide entry, trade or event | Store it separately | Sale value is not the only reason to keep a mutated crop. |
| Next event can affect the crop | Stop applying random mutations and wait | Event timing may produce a better result or avoid destroying a current stack. |
| Several small mutations versus one high multiplier | Compare the formula, not the mutation count | One ×100 effect can be worth more than multiple ×2 or ×3 effects. |
What is the maximum possible mutation multiplier?
There is no permanent maximum. New mutations, events and compatibility rules can change it.
The crop-mutation reference recorded a historical ×201,050 maximum from 67 high-value mutations attainable up to October 21, 2025. It also records earlier examples of ×121,050 and ×143,000 under different availability and compatibility assumptions. These are historical snapshots, not a guaranteed August 2026 live maximum.
Keep these claims separate:
- Highest single mutation: currently documented as Dawnbound at ×150 among single effects in the reviewed references.
- Highest fused mutation: Cosmic and Abyssal are each listed at ×240.
- Highest theoretical compatible stack: may include rare, limited or admin effects and can change after an update.
- Highest normally obtainable stack: excludes effects an ordinary player cannot currently trigger.
- Highest sale price: depends on the crop’s base value and weight as well as its mutation multiplier.
- Highest mutation count: is not necessarily the same as the highest-value stack.
Why an online calculator may disagree with your crop
- Different versions: old guides may use Shocked ×50, Voidtouched ×175 or Frozen ×8, for example.
- Different formulas: some databases multiply every number while the established formula uses a growth multiplier over an additive environmental stack.
- Weight rounding: the game or calculator may round weight before applying the square.
- Wrong base weight: crops with different reference weights cannot be compared using the same weight factor.
- Fusion replacement: Frozen, Paradisal, Ceramic and other recipes can remove their ingredients.
- Event-only content: an entry may be listed in a database even though the event is no longer active.
- Admin or unreleased content: an asset can exist without being obtainable in ordinary play.
- Crop-specific exceptions: pet, gear and event abilities may target produce differently from the crop itself.
For a disputed value, write down the crop’s unmutated sale value, base weight, actual weight, growth variant and exact displayed mutation labels. Then test one change at a time using a crop you can afford to lose.
Version and source notes
The indexed Grow a Garden update log lists Summer Camp Part 4 as Update 1.62.0 on June 27, 2026, but it is a community archive rather than a live official patch feed and contains at least one apparent date typo. The calculator changelog records Summer Part 4 data through July 25, 2026, but does not provide a complete authoritative audit of every mutation value.

For current availability, check the live game and official update announcements. The official experience is listed on Roblox. For the mechanics, recipes and older maximum-stack snapshot, begin with the community crop-mutation page. Beebom, Pro Game Guides, Pocket Tactics and Game Geek Fusion are useful secondary comparisons, but their coverage represents different dates and does not contain the same mutation pool.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best crop mutation in Grow a Garden?
For the highest publicly documented single crop effect, the reviewed references list Dawnbound at ×150. The highest documented fused results are Cosmic and Abyssal at ×240. The best final crop price still depends on base value and weight.
Can Gold and Rainbow stack?
No. Silver, Gold and Rainbow compete for the crop’s growth-variant slot. Ripe can coexist with one of them.
Can Wet and Chilled stack?
They can combine to create Frozen. Once the crop becomes Frozen, do not count Wet, Chilled and Frozen as three independent bonuses.

Do all Grow a Garden mutation multipliers multiply together?
No. Under the established crop formula, the growth variant multiplies an additive environmental stack. Fused mutations may replace their ingredients and must be handled using their recipe rules.
What is the maximum mutation multiplier?
There is no timeless maximum. A community reference recorded a historical ×201,050 stack attainable up to October 21, 2025, but that is not a guaranteed current maximum. New updates and compatibility changes can alter it.
Is Tidal ×5 or ×6?
Public July 2026 references conflict: one reports approximately ×5 and another reports ×6. Verify the current in-game sale value before using Tidal in a calculation.
What is the Ember multiplier?
The reviewed references identify Ember as Summer Camp crop content but do not establish a reliable multiplier. Treat its value as unconfirmed rather than relying on community speculation.
Is Spotty a crop mutation or a pet mutation?
Spotty is documented as a crop mutation associated with the Black Spotty Dragon. It should not be confused with mutations applied to the pet itself, and its current crop multiplier was not settled in the reviewed references.
Do pet mutations count in the crop multiplier?
Only a pet ability that applies an effect to the crop or its produce belongs in the crop-mutation calculation. Pet mutations such as Inferno, Exalted, Iridescent, Gigantic and Transcendent modify the pet and should not be added to the crop sale multiplier.
Should I sell a mutated crop or keep it?
Sell a low-value crop with a minor mutation if you need Sheckles. Preserve rare effects, heavy or high-base-value crops, quest and event submissions, and any crop that can still accept a compatible high-value mutation. Do not judge by mutation count alone.
The Bottom Line
The practical rule is simple: protect the growth variant, calculate weight before judging the mutation, treat environmental effects as an additive stack, and plan around fusion and replacement rules. Cosmic and Abyssal are the highest documented fused results at ×240, but the most profitable crop is determined by the complete combination of base value, weight, growth variant, compatible mutations and current event availability.
