There is no single permanent list of cross-platform games. A game may be available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC without allowing those players to join the same match. Conversely, some games support cross-play across several systems but are not available on every platform in this guide.
This guide separates platform availability from cross-play, and distinguishes native Switch 2 releases from ordinary Switch compatibility. It covers games available in the United States on at least two of PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, with the catalog and service status intended to be current as of August 10, 2026. Live-service games, storefront listings, compatibility, and matchmaking rules can change after that date.
The quick answer: games available on all seven platforms
Using the broadest practical definition of availability—including a Switch game that is confirmed to run on Switch 2—the strongest all-seven choices are:
- Fortnite
- Minecraft: Bedrock Edition
- Among Us
- Grounded
- Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4
- Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
- Sid Meier’s Civilization VII
These are not identical cases. Fortnite, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 have dedicated Switch 2 versions. Minecraft, Among Us, and Grounded are Switch releases that Nintendo identifies as compatible with Switch 2. Civilization VII has a Switch 2 Edition and an upgrade path, but its multiplayer limits differ between editions.
For a game to appear in the all-seven table, it must pass two separate tests: each requested platform must have a usable version, and the publisher’s current information must establish cross-platform multiplayer rather than merely listing multiple platforms.

| Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Native Switch 2 edition | Steam and Epic Games Store | Cross-play supported | Not established by the cited cross-play announcement | The Switch 2 edition launched physically on March 26, 2026; other platform releases came earlier. |
| Sid Meier’s Civilization VII | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Switch 2 Edition and upgrade path | PC, Mac, and Linux | Cross-platform multiplayer | Cross-play does not by itself establish cross-save | The original Switch version has smaller map limits and different player limits. Patch mismatches can temporarily block PC-to-console multiplayer. |
All-seven means that a usable version exists on all seven requested platform targets. It does not mean that every version has the same resolution, frame rate, map size, DLC, controller features, or online player limit.
Likely all-seven candidates that need an edition or service-status check
The following titles appear in the current platform inventory and have evidence of cross-platform play or broad platform coverage, but they should not be presented as unquestionable all-seven entries without checking the relevant publisher and Nintendo pages again at publication. The distinction matters particularly for Switch 2 compatibility, current storefront listings, and live server status.
| Game | What is established | What to verify before calling it all-seven |
|---|---|---|
| LEGO Party! | The Nintendo listing describes cross-platform play and Switch 2 compatibility. | Confirm the current PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, and PC listings and the exact matchmaking combinations. |
| MARVEL Cosmic Invasion | The Nintendo listing identifies Switch 2 compatibility and a cross-platform-play feature tag. | Confirm all non-Nintendo versions, the exact cross-play scope, and whether every multiplayer mode is included. |
| Overcooked! All You Can Eat | Cross-play is supported on the listed versions. | Check the Switch 2 compatibility result and do not call it a native Switch 2 release unless Team17 or Nintendo confirms one. |
| Gloomhaven | The Nintendo listing identifies Switch 2 compatibility and online features; the current inventory includes cross-platform play. | Confirm the current server status, exact platform combinations, and whether the feature applies to the complete game. |
| Warframe | Digital Extremes documents cross-platform play and cross-platform save for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and mobile. | Verify the Switch 2 status separately. A Switch listing is not automatically proof of a native or fully tested Switch 2 version. |
| PowerWash Simulator | Included in the broad cross-play inventory. | Recheck the current platform matrix, Switch 2 status, edition requirements, and whether all downloadable content shares multiplayer compatibility. |
| Worms Rumble | Included in the broad cross-play inventory. | Recheck the current platform and server matrix, especially for older console versions. |
| Gunfire Reborn | Included in the broad cross-play inventory. | Confirm the exact console generations, PC storefronts, Switch 2 compatibility, and current online support. |
| Matchpoint Tennis Championships | Included in the broad cross-play inventory. | Confirm the current versions and whether cross-play applies to every online mode. |
| Quake | Included in the broad cross-play inventory. | Check which release, remaster, server pool, and platform combinations are currently supported. |
Multiplatform is not the same as cross-play
These terms are often used interchangeably, but they answer different questions:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Multiplatform
- The game has been released on more than one platform. This says nothing about whether the versions share matchmaking.
- Cross-play
- Players on different platforms can join the same online match, lobby, world, or session. The useful question is always: which platforms and which modes?
- Cross-progression
- Account progress, characters, unlocks, cosmetics, inventory, or ranked data can move between platforms. It may exclude currency, DLC, achievements, trophies, or platform-exclusive items.
- Cross-save
- Save files or campaign progress are available on more than one platform. Cross-save can be narrower than full account progression.
- Cross-generation
- Players on PS4 and PS5, or Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, can play together. This does not automatically mean PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and PC players share a lobby.
- Backward compatibility
- An older version runs on newer hardware. It does not necessarily provide a native version, an upgrade, enhanced performance, cross-save, identical DLC, or shared matchmaking.
Broader cross-play catalog
The all-seven table is the answer for friends who need one game that covers every requested system. The following catalog is broader: these games are useful cross-play options across at least some of the requested platforms, but they do not all satisfy the all-seven test.
Broad console and PC cross-play
These titles have broad platform coverage in the current inventory, subject to the edition and service caveats below:
- Fortnite
- Minecraft: Bedrock Edition
- Among Us
- Grounded
- Warframe
- Rocket League
- Overwatch 2
- Paladins
- Overcooked! All You Can Eat
- PowerWash Simulator
- Worms Rumble
- Gunfire Reborn
- Gloomhaven
- Minecraft Dungeons
- Sid Meier’s Civilization VII
- Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4
- Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
- MARVEL Cosmic Invasion
- LEGO Party!
- Matchpoint Tennis Championships
- Quake
- The First Descendant
- The Outlast Trials
- Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
- Borderlands 3
- Chivalry 2
- Rainbow Six Extraction
- Call of Duty: Warzone
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, only if its platform and online-service status remain confirmed at publication
This is a discovery list, not a claim that every title supports every one of the seven platforms. Platform generations, storefronts, modes, and server pools must be checked title by title. The current Digital Trends inventory is useful for finding candidates, but its platform list should not be treated as proof of full cross-play or Switch 2 support.

- Versatile compatibility: supports Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One X/S consoles and PC Win10 and above (including the game platform Steam).
- Precise control: features Hall joysticks and Hall triggers for a comfortable feeling, long service life and improved game accuracy.
- Plug and Play Convenience: Wired USB connection (removable) for easy setup and instant play without the need for additional drivers.
- Customizable experience: Includes 2 custom backbuttons that allow users to eliminate false triggers and improve their gaming experience.
- Impressive gameplay: Provides a pulsating vibration trigger and an asymmetric vibration grip motor for intense tactile feedback.
Current-generation-only examples
These games may support cross-play between PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, but they fail the all-seven test because they do not cover PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch as required. Availability can change, so check the current store and publisher pages before buying.
Recommended Free Tools
| Game | Why it is not an all-seven choice |
|---|---|
| Helldivers 2 | Current-generation PlayStation, Xbox where applicable, and PC coverage does not extend to every requested older console and Switch target. |
| Monster Hunter Wilds | Current-generation and PC focus; no complete PS4, Xbox One, and Switch/Switch 2 matrix. |
| Marvel Rivals | Does not cover all seven requested platforms. |
| ARC Raiders | Current-generation-only example in the cited inventory. |
| Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora | Does not satisfy the older-generation and Switch requirements. |
| Lords of the Fallen | Current-generation and PC coverage does not make it an all-seven title. |
| Killing Floor 3 | Current-generation focus. |
| Marathon | Current-generation and PC focus. |
| New World: Aeternum | Does not cover every requested console generation and Nintendo platform. |
| Path of Exile 2 | Does not satisfy the all-seven platform requirement. |
| Rematch | Current-generation and PC coverage does not establish PS4, Xbox One, and Switch support. |
| The Finals | Does not cover every requested platform target. |
| Throne and Liberty | Current-generation and PC coverage does not make it an all-seven game. |
| Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 | Current-generation and PC focus. |
| Wild Hearts | Does not satisfy the full PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Switch 2, and PC test. |
Multiplatform games that should not automatically be labeled cross-play
A listing on multiple stores is not enough to promise that friends can play together. The following games require a more precise label—such as no cross-play, partial, generation-limited, or not verified—rather than being placed in a generic full-support list:
- Elden Ring
- Elden Ring: Nightreign
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Guilty Gear Strive
- Hunt: Showdown 1896
- Hell Let Loose
- Insurgency: Sandstorm
- Exoprimal
- Party Animals
- NHL 26
- NBA 2K25
- NBA 2K26
Typical restrictions include cross-play only within one console family, matchmaking only between current-generation versions, cross-play limited to selected modes, or no cross-play at all. A shared account system also does not prove that the game shares lobbies.
How Switch 2 availability should be read
Switch 2 is the most common source of misleading platform lists. Nintendo distinguishes ordinary compatibility from a native Switch 2 application, free performance updates, and paid Switch 2 Edition upgrade packs. Some Switch games are unsupported or only partially compatible.
Use these labels:
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Switch 2 native | A separate Switch 2 version exists. |
| Switch 2 Edition | A Switch 2-specific edition or upgrade adds enhancements or content. |
| Switch 2 compatible | The original Switch release runs on Switch 2, with no separate native version confirmed. |
| Switch 2 partial | The game launches but has known feature, controller, performance, or progression problems. |
| Switch 2 unsupported | Nintendo or the publisher says the Switch release does not work correctly. |
| Unverified | Public platform information does not establish the current Switch 2 status. |
Examples from the all-seven candidates:
- Fortnite: native Switch 2 version with enhanced performance; Nintendo lists a June 5, 2025 release and a 60-fps target.
- Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds: native Switch 2 edition.
- Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4: native Switch 2 version.
- Minecraft: compatible Switch release.
- Grounded: compatible Switch release.
- Among Us: compatible Switch release.
- LEGO Party!, Gloomhaven, and MARVEL Cosmic Invasion: Nintendo listings identify Switch 2 compatibility.
- Civilization VII: Switch 2 Edition and an upgrade path, rather than merely assuming that the original Switch version is identical.
- Warframe and Overcooked! All You Can Eat: Switch 2 status must be checked separately before counting them as confirmed all-seven games.
Do not count a title as being on Switch 2 merely because a generic database says Switch. Check the individual Nintendo product page and Nintendo’s compatible-games database.
Backward compatibility on PS5 and Xbox Series
PS4 games on PS5
Sony says the PS5 is backward-compatible with the overwhelming majority of PS4 games, but features and upgrades vary by title. A PS4 disc requires a PS5 with a disc drive; it cannot be used on the PS5 Digital Edition. A game may therefore have several valid labels:
- PS4 version playable on PS5;
- native PS5 version;
- free PS5 upgrade;
- paid PS5 upgrade;
- PS4-only features; or
- PS4-only servers or matchmaking.
See Sony’s PS5 backward-compatibility guidance before treating a PS4 listing as a native PS5 release.

Xbox One games on Xbox Series X|S
Microsoft states that most Xbox One games work on Xbox Series X|S through backward compatibility. Xbox Series S is digital-only, and disc ownership works differently from digital ownership. Smart Delivery may provide the correct version automatically, but that does not mean every Xbox One and Xbox Series version has identical performance or features.
Microsoft’s backward-compatibility page is the right reference for a specific title. In a table, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S should not automatically be treated as two entirely separate purchases.

Fortnite
Epic lists PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, Android, and iOS as supported platforms. Epic also documents cross-platform parties and account progression. On PlayStation, the setting is found at Fortnite > menu > gear icon > Settings > Account and Privacy > Gameplay Privacy > Allow Cross Platform Play > Yes.
Epic says cross-play cannot currently be disabled on Nintendo Switch, PC, or mobile, while PlayStation and Xbox expose the relevant controls. To invite friends, use the Epic account and cross-platform party system rather than relying only on a console friends list. Cosmetics and much account content are shared through Epic, but V-Bucks purchased on Nintendo Switch are not shared with other platforms.
Minecraft: Bedrock versus Java
The version matters more than the name on the box:
- Bedrock players can play with Bedrock players on Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and mobile.
- Java players remain in the Java multiplayer ecosystem on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Java and Bedrock do not officially cross-play.
- On Windows PC, launch the edition that matches the other players.
Therefore, saying only that Minecraft is cross-platform is incomplete. The accurate statement is that Minecraft Bedrock supports the relevant console-and-Windows cross-play ecosystem; Java is a separate ecosystem.
Rocket League
Rocket League supports cross-platform progression through an Epic Games account, but the primary platform still controls some progression data. Platform-exclusive items, credits, tokens, and licensed DLC can have sharing restrictions. Cross-play, cross-progression, and shared purchases should therefore be checked separately.
Warframe
Warframe’s official guide documents cross-platform play and cross-platform save features for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and mobile. That makes it a strong broad cross-play and cross-save option, but the Switch 2 question still needs a separate compatibility check. Never convert a Switch listing into a native Switch 2 claim without Nintendo or the publisher confirming it.

Among Us
Innersloth confirms cross-play between its Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC versions. Account linking and progression are not uniform, with documented limitations involving PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. Friends can therefore play together even when their unlocks or account data do not transfer identically.
Civilization VII
2K documents cross-platform multiplayer across PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, alongside Switch 2 Edition information. The original Switch version has smaller map-size restrictions, and player limits differ between Switch and other versions. A PC and console patch mismatch can temporarily make cross-platform multiplayer unavailable until clients are on compatible versions.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.What players need before joining friends
- Confirm the exact game and edition. Minecraft Bedrock and Java are different multiplayer ecosystems. A Switch version and a Switch 2 Edition may also have different features.
- Check every player’s platform combination. A game can support PS5-to-PC cross-play while excluding Switch, or PS4-to-PS5 play while separating Xbox and PC.
- Update every copy. Patch mismatches are a common cause of failed invitations and can temporarily disable cross-platform multiplayer.
- Link the required publisher account. Epic, Microsoft, Activision, EA, Ubisoft, or another publisher account may be needed to find friends outside the console network.
- Add friends through the correct ecosystem. A console friend list may not be enough when matchmaking is controlled by a publisher account.
- Enable cross-play where the game allows it. In Fortnite on PlayStation, use the Account and Privacy path listed above. Xbox and PlayStation games may have separate privacy and cross-network settings.
- Check the mode. Public matchmaking, private parties, co-op, competitive play, ranked modes, local wireless, and user-hosted servers may have different rules.
- Check the online subscription. Many paid console games require the relevant PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo online multiplayer service. Nintendo product pages identify requirements title by title. Free-to-play games often have different rules, so verify the specific game rather than applying a blanket assumption.
- Check DLC and expansion ownership. Cross-play may work for the base game while an expansion, licensed item, or special mode is unavailable to one player.
- Check region and server status. Storefront availability, matchmaking pools, and online services can be region-specific or can change after a game remains available for purchase.
Common failure modes and fixes
| Problem | Likely cause | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| You can see a friend but cannot invite them | Different publisher accounts, privacy settings, or game editions | Link the publisher account, add the friend in that ecosystem, confirm the exact edition, and review cross-play settings. |
| The game says the versions are incompatible | Patch mismatch or different generation/version | Update every client, restart the game, and check whether PS4/PS5 or Xbox One/Series matchmaking is supported. |
| A Switch 2 player cannot join | Ordinary compatibility, partial compatibility, or an edition-specific restriction | Check Nintendo’s compatibility database and the publisher’s Switch 2 page. Do not assume the Switch 2 version is native or feature-identical. |
| Progress or purchases are missing | Cross-play is supported but cross-progression is not, or the wrong account is linked | Use the same publisher account, check the game’s cross-save rules, and look for exclusions covering currency, DLC, cosmetics, trophies, or achievements. |
| A disc works on one new console but not another | PS5 Digital Edition and Xbox Series S do not accept physical discs | Use the digital license or a console with a disc drive, and verify that the publisher supports the relevant upgrade path. |
| One friend cannot access a map or mode | DLC, edition, platform, or player-limit restriction | Compare the exact editions and owned content. Civilization VII, for example, has platform-specific map and player limits. |
| Cross-play worked yesterday but not today | Server maintenance, a patch split, or a live-service change | Check the publisher’s service-status page, update all platforms, and wait for the same server version. |
How to choose the right game for your group
- Everyone owns a different system: start with the confirmed all-seven table and prefer Fortnite, Grounded, Among Us, or Minecraft Bedrock for the least ambiguous platform coverage.
- Someone owns Switch 2 but not the original performance-focused hardware: prioritize a native Switch 2 title such as Fortnite, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, or Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, or verify compatibility carefully for a Switch release.
- Your group wants shared cosmetics or progress: inspect cross-progression independently. Fortnite, Rocket League, and Warframe document account-based systems, while Among Us has platform-specific limitations.
- You want a strategy game: Civilization VII supports cross-platform multiplayer, but the Switch and Switch 2 editions have different map, player, and upgrade considerations.
- You want a current-generation showcase: consider games such as Helldivers 2, Monster Hunter Wilds, Marvel Rivals, The Finals, or Space Marine 2, but do not buy them expecting PS4, Xbox One, or Switch coverage.
- You need ranked or competitive play: verify the specific ranked pool. A game’s casual cross-play feature may not apply to ranked modes or may use input-based matchmaking.
How this list should be maintained
Cross-platform information is not permanent. A reliable update should record, for every title:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- PS5 availability and whether it is native or backward-compatible;
- Xbox Series X|S availability and whether Smart Delivery or backward compatibility is involved;
- PS4 and Xbox One availability;
- Nintendo Switch availability;
- Switch 2 status: native, Switch 2 Edition, compatible, partial, unsupported, or unverified;
- PC operating system and storefront, such as Windows, Steam, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, Mac, or Linux;
- region, subscription, physical, digital, subscription-catalog, and cloud-only restrictions;
- current online-server status;
- cross-play combinations and supported modes;
- cross-generation support;
- private-party and public-matchmaking support;
- ranked-mode restrictions;
- cross-progression and cross-save rules; and
- patch, DLC, account-linking, and edition restrictions.
Upcoming games should be audited again on the publication date. A title can release, be delayed, lose a platform, change its cross-play plan, or move from a roadmap into the current catalog. The same applies to live-service games whose servers or supported versions can change without the store page changing immediately.
Frequently Asked Questions
What game supports PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Switch 2, and PC?
The strongest confirmed all-seven choices in this guide are Fortnite, Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, Among Us, Grounded, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII. Availability does not mean identical features: some use Switch 2 compatibility, while others have a native Switch 2 version or a Switch 2 Edition.
Can Switch 2 players play with Nintendo Switch players?
Often, but not automatically. The game must support multiplayer between its Switch and Switch 2 versions, and Nintendo’s compatibility status must be checked. A Switch game running on Switch 2 may not have the same features as a native Switch 2 Edition. Check Nintendo’s compatible-games database and the publisher’s current multiplayer information.

Does playing a PS4 game on PS5 let PS4 and PS5 players play together?
Not necessarily. PS5 backward compatibility only means the PS4 software runs on PS5. Cross-generation matchmaking is a separate publisher decision. Look for explicit PS4-to-PS5 cross-play or cross-generation support.
Do Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players share matchmaking?
Sometimes. Xbox Series X|S can run many Xbox One games through backward compatibility, and Smart Delivery can provide the correct version, but shared matchmaking depends on the game. Xbox Series S is digital-only, so physical Xbox One ownership cannot be used in the same way as on a disc-equipped console.
Does Minecraft Java play with Bedrock?
No, not officially. Bedrock players can play with Bedrock players on Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and mobile. Java is a separate multiplayer ecosystem. Windows PC players must launch the edition that matches their group.
Does cross-play mean cross-save or cross-progression?
No. Cross-play only means that players on different platforms can share a match, lobby, world, or session. Cross-progression and cross-save are separate features and may exclude currency, DLC, cosmetics, trophies, achievements, or platform-exclusive items.
Do free-to-play cross-platform games require PlayStation Plus, Xbox Game Pass Core, or Nintendo Switch Online?
Console subscription requirements vary by game and platform. Many paid games require the applicable online multiplayer subscription, while free-to-play games often have exceptions. Check the game’s current store page and publisher support page instead of assuming that one rule applies to every title.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Which games in this guide support cross-progression?
Fortnite documents Epic-account progression, Rocket League documents cross-platform progression through an Epic account, and Warframe documents cross-platform save. Among Us has platform-specific account-linking limitations, while cross-play information for a game such as Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 does not by itself prove cross-progression. Always check the game’s account and purchase rules separately.
Why is a game listed on multiple platforms but not marked full cross-play?
Because a multiplatform release does not prove shared matchmaking. Cross-play may be absent, limited to one console family, restricted to current-generation versions, unavailable in ranked modes, or dependent on a particular edition. Games such as Elden Ring, Mortal Kombat 1, Guilty Gear Strive, and NBA 2K26 should not be placed in a full cross-play list without confirming the exact platform combinations and modes.
How often should a cross-platform games list be updated?
At minimum, check it whenever a major platform version, Switch 2 update, online-service change, patch split, or new annual sports or Call of Duty edition appears. Live-service entries should carry a last-verified date because a game can remain purchasable while its servers, matchmaking, or supported versions change.
The Bottom Line
For the least complicated all-platform choice, start with Fortnite, Minecraft Bedrock, Among Us, Grounded, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, or Civilization VII. Before buying, confirm three separate things: the exact version on every player’s hardware, the actual cross-play platform combinations and modes, and whether cross-progression or purchases transfer. Most importantly, treat Switch 2 as a specific compatibility question—not as an automatic synonym for Nintendo Switch.
