Shadow of the Erdtree’s new talismans are spread across the Realm of Shadow, from Gravesite Plain to the Ancient Ruins of Rauh. Some are open-world pickups, while others require dungeon bosses, NPC quests, hidden routes, teleporters, or access to the Hinterlands. This guide covers the DLC talismans only—not the talismans from the base game. Spoilers for locations, quests, and bosses follow.
Before you start
- Requirement: Shadow of the Erdtree requires the Elden Ring base game. Bandai Namco’s June 21, 2024 announcement described Japan-region editions and historical pricing, so confirm your platform, region, and edition before buying.
- How to use this guide: Pick a region below, then check the access note. “Quest” means the item depends on NPC progression or a choice; “boss” means you must defeat the named dungeon or field boss; “hidden” indicates a concealed opening or route; and “teleporter” identifies a transport-based route.
- Total count: The location guide used here does not number its entries, so no exact grand total is stated.
Gravesite Plain

Which talisman should you seek first?
Choose by the result your build needs, then account for the route’s danger and dependencies:
- Stamina: Two-Headed Turtle Talisman is the direct target for faster stamina recovery.
- HP or FP capacity: Crimson Amber Medallion +3 raises maximum HP; Cerulean Amber Medallion +3 raises maximum FP.
- Flask recovery: Crimson Seed Talisman +1 improves Crimson Tears healing, while Cerulean Seed Talisman +1 improves Cerulean Tears FP recovery.
- Defensive negation: Spelldrake Talisman +3 covers magic, Flamedrake Talisman +3 fire, Boltdrake Talisman +3 lightning, Golden Braid holy damage, and Pearl Shield Talisman non-physical damage while guarding.
- Archery: Arrow’s Soaring Sting Talisman improves range and arrow or bolt damage; Sharpshot Talisman boosts precision-aimed shots.
- Two-handed weapons: Two-Handed Sword Talisman enhances attacks made with two-handed weapons.
- Spells: Beloved Stardust greatly speeds casting, but its damage-taken penalty makes it a trade-off rather than a universal upgrade.
- Crucible builds: Talisman of All Crucibles combines the effects of all crucible-type talismans.
Route planning and common obstacles
- Mark quest-dependent items first. Leda’s Crossed-Tree talismans, Beloved Stardust, St. Trina’s Smile, and the Finger Ruins rewards can depend on progression or choices, so avoid making irreversible decisions before checking the relevant quest state.
- Separate boss gates from exploration. Both +3 medallions listed in Gravesite Plain and Scadu Altus require Death Knight victories, while several others sit in gaols, catacombs, forts, or larger legacy areas.
- Look for vertical and concealed access. Rooftop climbs, rubble openings, waterfall caverns, cages, ledges, and levers account for many otherwise easy-to-miss pickups.
- Unlock special transport or regions. Verdigris Discus requires a teleporter route, and Golden Braid requires access to the Hinterlands and Shaman Village.
- Match the talisman to the encounter. Negation, poise, robustness, focus, and flask effects are situational; equip the item that addresses the damage type, status buildup, resource limit, or weapon action you actually use.

The region-by-region locations and effects above follow Jason Rodriguez’s GameSpot guide, published June 26, 2024. Bandai Namco and FromSoftware announced the expansion’s requirement for the base game in official June 21, 2024 product information. A separate official June 27, 2024 announcement reported more than five million units sold worldwide within three days of release; that is a historical publisher statistic, not a current sales total.
