Smoothies can restore hearts and provide timed effects, while potions generally prioritize longer-lasting effects over heart recovery. Use the quick guide below to choose by need, then consult the linked recipe tables for every ingredient pair and exact listed value.
How smoothies and potions work
At a Smoothie Shop, speak to the Business Scrub and combine two ingredients. Zelda Wiki lists the blending fee as 10 Rupees. The result may restore hearts, replenish energy, grant a timed effect, or combine these benefits. Potions are also made at the shops and generally trade heart recovery for longer-lasting effects.
The count used here follows Nintendo Life: 59 smoothies plus 10 potions, for 69 standard recipes. Some guides also list the Unfortunate Smoothie, which is not included in that total. Recipe tables and details are available in Nintendo Life’s complete recipe guide and Zelda Universe’s smoothie guide.

All recipes: find the complete ingredient and effect tables
Nintendo Life and Zelda Universe publish broad tables covering ingredient combinations, heart or energy recovery, and status effects. Check those tables for the exact recipe when selecting an ingredient: a desired buff may have multiple combinations, and the amount restored or duration depends on the individual recipe. The counting difference matters when tracking completion: Nintendo Life’s 69 standard recipes exclude the separately listed Unfortunate Smoothie.
Where to make smoothies
Nintendo Life lists seven Smoothie Shops across Hyrule:

- A Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) is required for Save Data Cloud backup.
- Nintendo.
- Oasis in Gerudo Desert.
- South of Crossflow Plaza in Jabul Waters.
- North of Hyrule Castle Town in Hyrule Field.
- South of the Kakariko Village entrance.

Once a recipe has been discovered, it can later be purchased at a shop, according to Nintendo Life.

- Save the kingdom of Hyrule, this time with the wisdom of Princess Zelda! The people of Hyrule are being swallowed by strange crevices that have arisen, with a certain swordsman among the missing. Now it's up to Princess Zelda to save her kingdom in a new story from The Legend of Zelda !
- Team up with Tri and use the power of Tri's scepter to create "echoes", which are copies of objects found in the environment. Then recreate these echoes whenever you want to solve puzzles and defeat enemies.
- Create echoes like blocks of water to reach new heights, bridge old beds, throw rocks at enemies, or find your own creative combination of echoes to do everything your own way. You can even create monster echoes to fight alongside you in combat!
| Milestone | Reward |
|---|---|
| Make 10 distinct smoothies | Survey Scope |
| Make 30 unique smoothies | Survey Binoculars upgrade |
| Complete all 69 standard smoothie and potion recipes | 10 Golden Eggs |
The Unfortunate Smoothie does not count toward the 10-recipe milestone.

- Need hearts? Compare the recipe’s listed heart restoration with the ingredients you can spare.
- Need Swordfighter Form energy? Check the energy amount in the recipe table; do not assume a high-heart recipe also restores energy.
- Need a temporary advantage? Match the effect to the hazard or movement challenge, and compare its duration. For elemental protection, a potion may suit a longer stretch because potions generally emphasize effect duration rather than heart recovery.
- Short on a particular ingredient? Look for alternate ingredient pairs for the same effect in the complete tables before blending.
There is no universally best recipe: the right choice depends on whether Zelda needs healing, energy, protection, movement help, or ingredients conserved for later.
