Amazon’s Prime gaming giveaways are still running, but the benefit is now surfaced through Amazon Luna. Active Prime members can claim rotating downloadable PC games through the Luna claims page; those offers are separate from games that Prime members can stream through Luna. As of August 18, 2026, Amazon’s public announcements do not confirm a complete August downloadable lineup, so check the live page for the available games, assigned storefronts and claim deadlines.
What Amazon’s free-game benefit includes
Amazon now presents Prime’s gaming benefits through Luna. The name Prime Gaming remains in some Amazon support material, but the current claim route is Amazon Luna’s claims page.
Downloadable PC games
These are individual game offers claimed through the page and delivered through the platform assigned to each title. Amazon’s July 2026 announcement lists GOG, Epic Games Store, Legacy Games and the Amazon Games app as delivery options. A claim may add a game to a linked account, or provide a code that you must redeem yourself; it does not mean every title downloads from Amazon. Luna games you stream
Prime members also get access to an evolving Luna streaming library where cloud delivery is available. Streaming does not require downloading the full PC game, but it is not the same as claiming a game into a third-party library. Catalog access rotates, and availability depends on country and supported device. Amazon explains the distinction in its Luna FAQ.

August 2026 games: check the live offers
As of August 18, Amazon’s public announcements do not establish a complete official list of August downloadable games. Community posts report Pyramids and Aliens: Escape Room, Airship: Kingdoms Adrift and Steelrising, but that report is not an authoritative or complete lineup. Treat these as unconfirmed until they appear on Amazon’s live claims page.

How to claim a downloadable game
- Open the Luna claims page and sign in with the Amazon account that has an active Prime membership.
- Find a downloadable PC-game offer and read its storefront, region and deadline details.
- Select the claim control shown on that offer, such as Claim or Get game.
- Follow the offer’s redemption steps. Depending on the title, you may need to sign in to GOG or Epic, redeem a Legacy Games code, or use the Amazon Games app.
- Before leaving the offer, confirm the entitlement or code is associated with the storefront account you intend to use.
- Install the relevant storefront client if needed, then download the game from that library.
Some offers require linking an account; others give you a code rather than adding the game automatically. In-game rewards are a separate type of offer and may require linking a publisher or game account. Amazon’s claiming guide describes these different delivery flows.

For games delivered through the Amazon Games app
Download the app from Amazon’s installation instructions. On Windows, run AmazonGamesSetup.exe, sign in with the Amazon account used to claim the game, and find the title in the app’s library to install it.

Do you keep a claimed game after Prime ends?
A game redeemed to a third-party storefront is intended to remain in that storefront account, rather than being merely borrowed from Luna’s rotating streaming catalog. But the individual offer’s terms govern the entitlement. You must complete any required code redemption or account linking, and access can be affected by redeeming on the wrong account, regional restrictions or platform requirements. Do not assume an unredeemed code will remain usable indefinitely.
A Luna streaming listing is different: it provides access through a changing catalog, not necessarily a permanent ownership entitlement. Check whether an offer says to claim a PC game or to play through Luna before relying on it as a library addition.

How to stream a Luna game instead
- Go to Luna or open Luna on a supported device, then sign in with the Prime account.
- Choose a game included in the available Luna catalog and start streaming.
- Use a compatible controller or another supported control method. Streaming requires a suitable internet connection; unlike a downloadable claim, it does not install a full PC copy.
Amazon says cloud delivery is available to Prime members in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Portugal, Belgium and Luxembourg. Downloadable claims may be available in countries where Prime is offered even when Luna cloud streaming is not. Check the country selector and the offer itself rather than assuming every member sees the same games or features; see Amazon’s availability FAQ.
Amazon’s July 23, 2026 announcement also says Prime members in the United States and United Kingdom can find Luna games in the Games tab of the Prime Video app on Fire TV. The announced integration lets players begin without a separate game purchase or download. It is a specific Fire TV integration, not evidence that the same feature is available on every Prime Video device or in every country. Details are in Amazon’s Prime Video and Luna announcement.

What to try when a claim or install fails
The claim button is missing
- Sign out and back in with the Amazon account that has Prime.
- Check whether the offer expired or is restricted in your country.
- Confirm you are viewing a downloadable PC offer, not a Luna streaming listing.
- Try the claims page in a desktop browser and temporarily disable extensions that interfere with sign-in.
- If it still does not appear, consult the Amazon Games support hub.
The game does not appear in the library
- Check the storefront account you linked or signed into during redemption.
- For GOG or Epic, verify that the code was redeemed; copying a code is not the same as adding the game.
- For an Amazon Games app title, check the library or Ready to Install area and confirm the app is signed into the same Amazon account used to claim it.
- Fully close and relaunch the Amazon Games app if the entitlement or installation does not appear. Amazon includes that step in its app troubleshooting guidance.
A code is invalid or already redeemed
- Redeem it on the storefront named in the offer, not a different launcher.
- Check for extra spaces or copied punctuation and verify whether the code was already used on another account.
- Do not share or publish redemption codes. If an Amazon-issued code cannot be redeemed at the specified store, contact Amazon or that storefront’s support.
You expected a console game or offline access
Most monthly downloadable offers are PC games. A GOG, Epic, Legacy Games or Amazon Games entitlement is not a PlayStation or Xbox entitlement unless the offer explicitly says so. Downloadable games may support offline play depending on the game and storefront; Luna streaming needs an internet connection. Neither format guarantees that a game is playable through the other.
Why older Luna instructions may not work
Some older guides describe buying individual games through a Luna store or using third-party subscriptions there. Amazon’s support notice says Luna stopped offering game stores, individual game purchases and third-party subscriptions on April 10, 2026; access to previously purchased third-party games and subscriptions ended on June 10, 2026. Current Prime downloadable giveaways still use the claim page and their assigned storefronts, rather than a general Luna game store. See Amazon’s Luna service-change notice.
Is Prime worth it just for the games?
That depends on whether you value Prime’s other benefits as well. The games rotate, their storefronts vary, and cloud streaming is limited by region and device; a membership may be poor value if you want only one particular title. Compare the live offers with the broader Prime benefits on Amazon’s membership page before subscribing solely for games.
