Anbernic reduced the announced RG476H price from $174.99 to $164.99, then offered a further $15 discount during the first 72 hours of pre-orders, bringing the launch promotion to $149.99. Anbernic’s promotional material and product listings also confirm an Unisoc T820, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, a 4.7-inch 4:3 display with up to a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 5,000mAh battery.
This news dates to September 10, 2025. The $149.99 figure was a temporary pre-order price, not a permanent price. As of the latest store checks cited here, regional pricing and availability vary considerably.
What changed with the RG476H price?
Anbernic had previously indicated a launch price of $174.99 for the RG476H. The company subsequently revised its regular price to $164.99, a $10 reduction.
For the first 72 hours of pre-orders, buyers could apply another $15 discount. That made the effective launch price $149.99. The promotion was especially significant because it positioned the RG476H close to the reported sub-$150 Chinese launch pricing associated with Ayaneo’s Pocket AIR Mini. Notebookcheck reported the original price change and launch context.

The important distinction is between the historical launch offer and the price a buyer may see today. Current store prices depend on region, shipping origin, stock, promotions, and whether a microSD card is included.

Anbernic’s RG476H product page also lists Hall-effect sticks, Hall-effect triggers, active cooling with a fan and heat pipe, RGB lighting, a vibration motor, and six-axis motion sensing.

A 4:3 screen with a high refresh rate
The 1280×960 display is a 4:3 panel, making it naturally suited to PlayStation 1, Super NES, Game Boy Advance, older arcade games, and other content designed around traditional or near-square proportions. It will show modern widescreen Android games and many streaming services with more unused screen space than a 16:9 handheld.
The panel supports a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. That does not mean every emulator or Android game runs at 120 frames per second; the refresh-rate ceiling is a display feature, not a performance guarantee.
Battery and charging claims
Anbernic claims approximately six hours of battery life and approximately three hours for a full charge using 5V/2A charging. These are manufacturer figures rather than independent measurements, so actual endurance will vary with brightness, refresh rate, emulator load, wireless connectivity, cooling, and game settings.

What the T820 means for emulation
The Unisoc T820 places the RG476H in the midrange Android-handheld category. It should be a much more capable platform than Anbernic’s entry-level H700- and RK3566-class devices, while remaining below the newest flagship handheld chips.

That list should not be read as a promise that every game on every platform runs perfectly. Performance depends on the emulator, game, graphics backend, resolution, frame-skip or speed-hack settings, thermal conditions, and Android compatibility. The T820 is a reasonable fit for older consoles, arcade systems, much of the PSP and Dreamcast era, and selected more demanding GameCube, PS2, Wii, and 3DS workloads. It is not evidence of universal full-speed performance for those systems.

RG476H versus RG Slide
The RG476H is best understood as a conventional horizontal alternative to the RG Slide, not as an entirely different performance tier. Anbernic lists both models with a T820, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, Android 13, a 4.7-inch 1280×960 display with up to 120Hz refresh, and a 5,000mAh battery.

The RG476H avoids the added mechanical complexity and bulk of the sliding design. The RG Slide, however, can be compelling when discounted. On the inspected regional storefront, it was listed at $148.76, reduced from $189.99. Check Anbernic’s RG Slide page for the current regional listing. Because these are promotional prices, neither figure should be treated as universal or permanent.

- Anbernic’s US-shipping page displayed $169.99, but the product was marked sold out.
The RG476H page offers no-card, +128GB, and +256GB configurations. A headline price may apply only to the standard version, so compare the selected variant rather than assuming that a bundled card is included. Also check currency conversion, taxes, delivery charges, shipping origin, warranty coverage, and return terms before comparing regional prices.
View the regional RG476H listing and check the US-shipping storefront before ordering. A displayed price does not necessarily mean the product is in stock for your region.
Should you buy the RG476H?
The RG476H makes the most sense for buyers who want a 4:3 Android handheld, a traditional horizontal shell, Hall-effect controls, active cooling, and enough T820-class performance to move beyond basic retro emulation. It is particularly attractive when available near the $150–$160 range.
Expectations matter. The T820 is a midrange platform, and Anbernic’s system list does not guarantee flawless PS2, Wii, GameCube, or 3DS emulation. The 4:3 screen is excellent for classic games but less efficient for widescreen Android titles. The approximately six-hour battery figure, up-to-2TB microSD support, video output, and dual-screen claims are manufacturer specifications rather than independent test results.
Value is also highly dependent on the RG Slide’s current discount. If the Slide is available at a similar or lower price, its sliding design may be worth considering; if you prefer a thinner conventional handheld or want fewer moving parts, the RG476H is the more straightforward choice. Avoid assuming that either model includes legally licensed game software: storage bundles and preloaded ROM cards should be assessed separately, and buyers should use games and software they have the right to use.
