How do you clear the Snake error?
- Do not queue for another match while the Snake message is displayed.
- Wait until the message stops appearing.
- Join another match once it has cleared.
EA does not publish a fixed penalty duration or a method to reduce the wait, so there is no supported timer or workaround to recommend.
Is Snake a connection error?
No. EA lists Snake separately from server-response errors such as code:net and code:leaf. Those errors have separate connection troubleshooting suggestions; EA’s Snake instructions say to wait for the penalty message to disappear. Restarting a router or switching to Ethernet is not EA’s documented fix for Snake.

If the message continues or you need help beyond the listed instructions, EA’s article directs players to the EA Forums for further help. It does not document another way to remove the penalty.
