Blue Gate is a mountainous valley map, not a single flat town: open ground and small settlements sit above a substantial underground network of tunnels and complexes. Use an interactive map’s filters to separate quests, containers, resources, ARC markers, events, and underground locations; then confirm entrances and current objectives in-game. The Checkpoint-to-Traffic-Tunnel route for the Armored Transports quest shows why that layered layout matters—and why a key-dependent trip through a contested area calls for caution.
How Blue Gate is laid out
ARC Raiders Hub describes Blue Gate as a location high in the mountains, with open areas, small towns, tunnels, and underground complexes (ARC Raiders Hub’s Blue Gate map guide). The ARC Raiders Wiki likewise characterizes it as a spacious valley with abandoned towns, fruiting orchards, and an underground complex containing ARC machines (ARC Raiders Wiki: Blue Gate).
Think of the map in layers. Surface routes cross open terrain and settlements; underground routes add entrances, enclosed corridors, and objectives beneath that surface. The wiki says access unlocks after 18 completed rounds. That is a community-wiki claim, not an official requirement confirmed in the sources cited here, so check the game if the unlock condition matters to your account.
Use an interactive map to narrow the search
Interactive maps are most useful as category filters, not as rankings of the best loot or safest route. Select markers that match your immediate goal—such as a quest, containers, resources, an extraction point, or an underground location—rather than trying to interpret every icon at once. One reviewed interface includes an explicit underground-marker control (Map Genie’s Blue Gate map).

RaidersData/MetaForge reported 1,381 tracked Blue Gate points when checked in 2026: 702 container-related points, 41 quest-linked points, 257 important location or extraction points, 175 events, 206 resource nodes, and 153 ARC markers (RaidersData’s Blue Gate map). These are third-party database counts, not official game statistics or a measure of expected loot value. Marker coverage can change with updates.
There is a counting distinction on the second map interface: it displays 1,460 total markers as well as 1,381 active filters. Those figures describe different interface counts and should not be treated as interchangeable. Its category totals include 104 location markers, 41 quest markers, 702 container markers, 153 ARC markers, 206 plant/resource markers, and 175 map-event markers (Map Genie’s Blue Gate map).

Checkpoint to Traffic Tunnel: an Armored Transports example
PC Gamer’s walkthrough gives a concrete surface-to-underground route for the Armored Transports objective (PC Gamer’s Armored Transports walkthrough). The key, vehicle positions, and quest details may change with patches; use this as a route example rather than a guarantee that an item or spawn will be present.
- Search Checkpoint. The walkthrough places it near the center of Blue Gate and directs players to inspect roadside guard booths for the Armored Patrol Key Card. It may be on a desk among papers.
- Protect the key. Put the card in a safe pocket if possible before heading toward the vehicles. The route depends on having the key, and the walkthrough says finding a replacement is luck-dependent.
- Head north toward Outer Gates and Traffic Tunnel. Follow the road and check the armored patrol cars along the route. The guide lists possible vehicle positions near the tunnel entrance, behind an armored door, farther inside, and around the central roundabout; these are not guaranteed spawns.
- Use the card on a patrol car. The walkthrough says a patrol car contains a gun case and may contain another container. Check the current quest objective and in-game prompts, since quest mechanics can change.
What makes this route risky
The walkthrough warns of ARC threats around the tunnel, including a Bastion near patrol cars. It also identifies the Security Wing and Maintenance Wing as high-end loot areas that can attract other raiders. The route therefore combines a key that can be lost on death with exposure to both ARC machines and other players; the map can help with orientation, but it cannot make the corridor safe.

Choose a route by objective, not by a universal “best” label
The available map and walkthrough information supports trade-offs, not a single route ranking. Decide what matters for this run, and use filters and in-game conditions accordingly.
- Surface or underground: Underground markers help identify the lower layer, but entrances and connections should be confirmed in-game. Surface routes offer a different set of landmarks and approach options.
- Quest progress or general collection: Quest, container, and resource filters can reduce map clutter. A larger number of markers does not establish higher loot value.
- Progress or survival: A key-dependent objective may justify the trip, but carrying its key into a hostile area creates a risk of losing time or progress. Secure it where possible and reassess threats before pushing onward.
- Loot density or exposure: The walkthrough identifies the Security and Maintenance wings as loot hotspots that attract other players. The cited sources do not establish which route is safest or rank extraction risk.
What to verify in-game
Map counts, unlock rules, event markers, quest routing, and item or vehicle spawns are third-party or walkthrough information and can become stale. If an exact current mechanic matters, check the quest text, map, and available interaction prompts in your current game session. The geographic descriptions are consistent across community sources, but no official Embark Studios map page is cited here.
