ARC Raiders’ Flickering Flames was a limited-time winter event tied to the Cold Snap update. It combined a five-stage resource-donation project with a separate Merit-based reward track called Gathering Candleberries. The event ran from December 16, 2025, to January 13, 2026, and is no longer active.
What was the Flickering Flames event in ARC Raiders?
Flickering Flames was part of the Cold Snap update, which also introduced a snowfall map condition and the Expedition Project Raider reset, according to Embark’s North Line announcement. The event’s winter-banquet theme connected its two systems: players contributed resources to a project and earned Merit toward a separate reward track.
The event lasted 28 days, from December 16, 2025, through January 13, 2026, according to the community-maintained ARC Raiders Wiki event reference. That means its project and reward track are historical rather than available for new progress now.
How did the Flickering Flames project work?
The project had five stages. Players committed requested resources to advance the banquet-themed project and earn stage rewards. The wiki lists rewards including Merit, Raider Tokens, items and a Backpack Charm, along with four rewards for completing all five stages. Contributions were not refundable: once committed, resources could not be retrieved, according to the wiki.

Candleberries were among the requested resources. The wiki’s stage table lists 20 for stage one, 50 for stage two, 60 for stage three and 60 for stage four. These figures come from a community reference, not an official complete checklist.
How was Gathering Candleberries different?
Gathering Candleberries was the separate live-event reward track associated with Flickering Flames. The wiki describes it as a sequence of 25 additional rewards, mostly cosmetics. Players advanced it by earning Merit, rather than by simply completing the project stages.

According to that same community reference, players earned Merit through experience on any map at a rate of 1 Merit per 100 XP, or by committing specified resources to the project. The project and the reward track were connected, but they were not the same system: the project consumed donations and paid out stage and completion rewards, while the track used Merit to unlock its own rewards.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How many Candleberries did Flickering Flames require?
A definitive total is not established by the available event guides. The ARC Raiders Wiki and an ARC Raiders Hub project guide disagree about stage-five requirements. The Hub guide says the project required 260 Candleberries overall, but the wiki’s listed amounts for the first four stages alone add up to 190, before its stage-five amount. Embark’s December Update 1.7.0 notes cover relevant project-interface and live-event-menu updates, but the reviewed notes do not resolve the conflicting final-stage totals.
