ARC Raiders will be free to play from October 8, 2026, at 09:00 UTC until October 12 at 08:00 UTC. Embark says the offer includes the full game on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation. During that window, find ARC Raiders in your platform’s store, install it, and launch it while the event is active.
ARC Raiders free weekend start and end dates
Embark Studios announced the event on October 2, 2026. It starts Thursday, October 8, at 09:00 UTC and ends Monday, October 12, at 08:00 UTC—a four-day period measured by the UTC clock. Convert both times to your local time zone if you need to plan around the start or cutoff.
Embark describes this as access to the full ARC Raiders game, not a separately described demo. The offer is listed for Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation. Read Embark’s event announcement.
How to download ARC Raiders during the free weekend
- On PC: Open Steam and search for ARC Raiders, or use the official Steam listing.
- On Xbox or PlayStation: Open the store for your console and search for ARC Raiders during the free-play window. Embark confirms both platforms but does not provide console store links or a specific menu path.
- Install and launch: Download the game from your platform’s store and launch it while the event is active. The announcement does not confirm whether preloading will be available.
- Meet the account requirements: Embark’s event page says an internet connection, an Embark ID account, a third-party platform account, and acceptance of its Terms of Service and End User License Agreement are required. The page states an age restriction of 13+.

These requirements come from the Steam listing. The event announcement does not specify download size, regional store differences, cross-progression, or whether progress carries over after the free-play period.
What the Frozen Trail update means for new players
The free-play period overlaps with Frozen Trail, which Embark calls its biggest update since launch. Embark says new players can access Pendola Pass immediately if they team up with a player who has already unlocked the map. That condition does not establish standalone access for every new player. Embark’s announcement is the source for the event and map-access details.

What happens after the event?
The announcement does not say whether access continues after October 12, whether free-weekend progress carries over, or whether a purchase is needed to keep playing. Check the game’s store page and platform account for current access information rather than assuming the event grants permanent ownership.
