What are the new ARC Raiders map conditions?
Embark’s October 8, 2026 patch notes name Frigate and Redirection as the two new map conditions in Frozen Trail 2.0. They do not provide a full mechanics breakdown for either condition by name, so players should not assume that a particular hazard, route change, or reward is tied to Redirection.
The official preview does, however, describe two concrete dangers introduced with the update: severe flash freezes in the new Pendola Pass map and a raid aboard a patrolling ARC vessel called the Frigate. Embark has not established in the cited materials whether those details are the complete rules of the named conditions.
What makes Frozen Trail dangerous?
Pendola Pass and flash freezes
Pendola Pass is a cold, isolated former Italian village that once served as an Exodus transport hub. Embark’s preview says brutal flash freezes cut through its valley, making the environment itself a threat during a raid. The preview does not provide a timing schedule or detailed survival mechanics for the freezes.

Boarding the Frigate
The Frigate is a large ARC vessel patrolling the Rust Belt. Raiders board it, work through internal passages, and unlock routes while facing ARC enemies and other Raiders in tight quarters high above the ground. Embark says players may need to cooperate or fight their way through; the preview does not promise that any particular approach is safer.
Three new ARC enemies
- Bully: An aggressive enemy that rushes Raiders and attacks with lethal moves. Embark’s preview advises using cover, timing responses, and landing shots.
- Skulker: An opportunistic threat that waits near the edge of a player’s vision, strikes, then withdraws.
- Hydra: A three-part stationary turret found on the Frigate. Its autonomous parts can threaten a whole squad. Embark advises using cover or distractions and attacking quickly when an opening appears.
These are Embark’s descriptions, not independent difficulty testing. The studio’s preview sums up the intended danger as: “Between a scrambled ARC response and brutal flash freezes that cut through the valley, the adventure will be dangerous.” — The ARC Raiders Team, September 23, 2026.

What else is included in Frozen Trail 2.0?
Map, weapons, and equipment
Alongside Pendola Pass and the Frigate activity, the update adds the Bantam and Stiletto weapons; a Grappling Hook; Basic and Advanced Cameras; a Tether Launcher; a Yank Grenade; a Mountaineer’s Detector; Banjo; and Harmonica. Embark describes the Grappling Hook as a traversal tool for climbing, rappelling, and crossing gaps. The Tether Launcher and Yank Grenade can restrain or pull targets.
Progression and customization
Frozen Trail adds an Outpost, a Research Bench, weapon amplification, a revamped skill tree, 22 new quests, a Reward Pass system, Weapon Stencils, and two stash levels. Embark lists a maximum of 328 stash slots without Expedition bonuses.

Balance changes
Embark says it reworked explosive damage: explosive weapons such as the Hullcracker deal over 50% more damage to armor plates and around 30% less to more fragile parts. The patch also reduces Heavy Shield durability decay from 0.20 to 0.15 and its movement penalty from 15% to 10%. These are patch-note figures, not independently tested results.
Is Frozen Trail really a “minor update”?
No. “Minor Update” is the framing in the headline, not Embark’s description of this release. The studio calls Frozen Trail – 2.0 its biggest update since launch. It adds a map, named conditions, enemies, weapons, equipment, quests, and progression systems, as well as balance and quality-of-life changes.
