In Patch 1.18.0, Embark slightly reduced rare blueprint drops from First Wave Caches during the Hurricane map condition and increased their high-tier material drops. The notes do not give exact probabilities, and the change applies to those caches—not loot across the game.
What changed in ARC Raiders Patch 1.18.0?
Embark’s Patch Notes 1.18.0, last updated March 18, 2026, describe a targeted adjustment to First Wave Cache rewards on the Hurricane map condition:
- Rare blueprints became slightly less likely to drop.
- High-tier materials became more likely to drop.
Embark said players had become effective at locating and looting these caches, which had been handing out many blueprints. The intended result was a different reward mix: fewer blueprints on average, but better materials. The developer said the caches would remain a solid blueprint source.
The patch note does not state a new drop percentage. It also pushes back on treating three to five blueprints per session as a dependable expectation; that figure describes the sort of haul players had come to expect, not an official average or published probability.

Did ARC Raiders nerf loot across the game?
No broad, across-the-board loot reduction is established by these notes. The 1.18.0 change concerns rare blueprints and high-tier materials in one cache type under the Hurricane condition. It does not say that all containers, maps, or rewards were reduced.
Embark has made other targeted loot adjustments. Its Patch Notes 1.2.0, dated November 13, 2025, said Security Lockers had been providing too many valuable items and were adjusted. The same update sealed a room in Spaceport’s Departure Building so it required breaching, then adjusted that room’s loot to reflect the effort needed to enter. These were changes to specific sources, not evidence of one universal loot-rate change.

Why are Hurricane cache blueprint runs less dependable?
The cache adjustment changes the odds in the reward mix, not the cache’s identity as a blueprint source. You may still find rare blueprints, but Embark’s note says they are slightly less likely than before, while high-tier materials are more likely. Since no percentages were published, the patch note cannot tell you how many runs to expect before finding a blueprint.
If a run produces materials rather than a blueprint, that is consistent with the intended rebalance; it does not establish that the cache stopped dropping blueprints or that other loot sources changed.

How does the October 2026 PvE test affect loot?
Embark’s September 24, 2026 announcement describes a separate, limited PvE matchmaking test scheduled for October 13–20, 2026. During that test, safer PvE sessions will have lower overall loot value to account for the reduced risk. PvPvE sessions will have slightly higher baseline loot values during the test.
Those test rules are distinct from the Hurricane cache adjustment in Patch 1.18.0. The announcement says the test is not a promise of a permanent PvE toggle, so its loot rules should not be read as a permanent global balance change.
