The claim that ARC Raiders “just broke 295K concurrent on Steam” is not verified by the available figures. Nexon reported 960,000 peak-concurrent users in January 2026, but did not say that count was Steam-only; a third-party Steam chart recorded a daily peak of 111,736 on October 8, 2026. Those are different measures from different dates and scopes. ARC Raiders is a multiplayer extraction adventure, and it was temporarily free to play from October 8 to 12, 2026.
Did ARC Raiders really reach 295K concurrent players on Steam?
That specific claim is not corroborated by the sources available here. Player-count headlines need both a date and a platform scope: a publisher-reported peak across an unspecified scope cannot be presented as a Steam count, and a daily Steam peak is not the same as an all-platform concurrent-user figure.

Nexon also reported approximately six million weekly active users at the time of its Q4 2025 earnings letter and 14 million units sold in the first 15 weeks. Weekly active users, units sold, and peak concurrent users are distinct measures; none establishes a 295,000 Steam peak.
Steam’s own listing showed 81% positive English reviews from 200,070 total reviews on October 8, 2026. Recent reviews were 55% positive from 2,656 reviews in the preceding 30 days. These are dated snapshots, and both counts and ratings can change.

What is ARC Raiders?
ARC Raiders is a multiplayer extraction adventure from Embark Studios, released October 30, 2025. It is set on a future Earth threatened by mechanized enemies known as ARC. Raiders prepare by scavenging, crafting, repairing, and upgrading gear, then venture topside to gather valuable loot and try to extract.
The game is PvPvE: hostile machines are one danger, but rival human players can contest loot or take it. You can play solo or in a party of up to three. Extraction is the key decision point—valuable equipment only helps if you make it out with it.

Is ARC Raiders free to play?
No permanent free-to-play change is established. The official site announced a limited free-play period from October 8 through October 12, 2026, alongside the Frozen Trail update. Treat that as a dated promotion, not an ongoing offer. Nexon describes ARC Raiders as an upfront-payment multiplayer game with online servers and no single-player mode.
Where can you play, and does it support cross-play?
The official ARC Raiders site describes cross-platform social play across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. It lists Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and GeForce NOW as access options. Steam identifies the game as online PvP, online co-op, and cross-platform multiplayer. Store availability and features can vary by platform.

How does ARC Raiders make money after purchase?
Steam lists standard and Deluxe editions, cosmetic downloadable content, and in-app purchases. The official site says Raider Tokens can be used for Raider decks, bundles, and cosmetic items. These are separate from the temporary October 2026 free-play window; the sources do not establish that the game became permanently free.

- Source: Publisher figures and third-party platform charts have different scopes; name the source and preserve its wording.
