Aim for a Snitch’s four unarmored thrusters, or its underside if that is the cleaner angle. Accurate Medium- or Heavy-ammo shots can destabilize it; the fastest safe kill is usually the one you begin before its scanner locks on. If you cannot finish it quickly after detection, break line of sight and retreat rather than drawing more ARC into the fight.
What a Snitch does—and why speed matters
A Snitch is an unarmed reconnaissance drone. It sweeps the area with a visible scanner beam; when it detects a Raider, it alerts nearby ARC and starts calling reinforcements before attempting to escape. The threat is the encounter it triggers, not a direct attack. The in-game Codex describes it as “Pesky and vigilant, the Snitch is an unarmed reconnaissance drone, equipped with advanced scanning technology,” as reproduced by the ARC Raiders Wiki.
The clearest escalation marker is its third call: reinforcements are guaranteed once that call begins. Do not rely on a fixed number of seconds; the cited guides do not establish one. Possible responders include Wasps, a Firefly-and-Hornet duo, or a Rocketeer. The enemy guide notes that Live Update 1.42.0 added the Rocketeer and the Firefly-and-Hornet option; see the Snitch entry and GameSpot’s Snitch guide.
Where to shoot a Snitch
Thrusters: the clearest target
The Snitch has four unarmored thrusters. Aim deliberately at them rather than spraying the central body. Damage to multiple thrusters can disrupt its flight, making it wobble or spiral toward the ground. That loss of control can make a moving target easier to finish, but it may also become harder to track if you wait until it is already maneuvering. The ARC Raiders Wiki and All Things How’s guide both describe erratic flight after thruster damage.

Underside: a useful alternative angle
If the drone’s underside is more exposed than its thrusters, target the underside plating. GameSpot describes three underside sections and says breaking two is typically enough to bring the Snitch down. Treat that as a practical aiming option, not a different universal damage rule: the guides do not establish one guaranteed shot count for every weapon setup and encounter. See GameSpot’s guide and All Things How.
Fastest practical kill sequence
- Find it before firing. Watch for the scanning beam or listen for its whine so you can locate the drone and choose an angle before it detects you.
- Pick one exposed target. Take a clear shot at a thruster; use the underside if that offers the better line. Avoid uncontrolled fire at the center of the body.
- Use accurate Medium- or Heavy-ammo fire. The guides recommend these ammo types; Anvil and Ferro are examples of Heavy-ammo weapons. They are suggested options, not a verified fastest loadout for every patch, range, upgrade, or configuration. All Things How discusses these choices, but does not establish a universally fastest weapon.
- Reassess when the scanner turns red. If you have a clean angle and can plausibly finish it with a short, accurate attack, commit. If not, stop exposing yourself and move behind solid cover or foliage to break line of sight, then disengage.
There is no dependable universal two-shot promise in the cited guides: damage depends on conditions such as weapon configuration, range, upgrades, and hit registration, and the sources do not establish consistent values for those factors.

After it starts calling: fight or leave?
Once the Snitch begins its third call, assume reinforcements are coming. The possible group varies; the sources list Wasps, a Firefly-and-Hornet duo, or a Rocketeer rather than one fixed response. Check your position, ammunition and existing ARC pressure before choosing whether to stay. If the fight is no longer favorable, prioritize breaking line of sight and surviving the encounter. The ARC Raiders Wiki, All Things How, and GameSpot describe the escalation and possible reinforcements.

A destroyed Snitch can yield a Snitch Scanner. This in-game item is used for a Utility Station upgrade and can also be thrown to call ARC reinforcements. It is a loot and utility item, not a weapon recommendation; details are listed in the ARC Raiders Wiki’s Snitch Scanner entry.
