Dialga ex is the opening Energy engine in this Pokémon TCG Pocket deck: its Metallic Turbo attack places two Metal Energy on a Benched Pokémon, setting up Arceus ex as the main attacker. A current published recommendation pairs two copies of each ex Pokémon with two Shaymin, healing and protection, and draw or disruption cards. Treat it as a practical starting list, not a proven best-in-meta build.
Arceus ex and Dialga ex deck list
This is Pocket Tactics’ recommendation in its guide accessed in October 2026. It is one published build, not a definitive optimal list. Check that the cards are available in your collection and confirm their current in-game text before building, since card availability and effects can change.

Why Dialga ex leads
Dialga ex’s Metallic Turbo puts two Metal Energy on one of your Benched Pokémon. That lets it act as an opening attacker and accelerate a second attacker before that Pokémon takes the Active Spot. The Pokémon Company International describes this two-Energy effect in its Space-Time Smackdown card strategy article.

Arceus ex is the main target when your hand and board make the setup practical. Because Metallic Turbo targets the Bench, the plan is to build Arceus ex out of the way of incoming attacks, then bring it forward when it is ready. Dialga ex can still attack if you need an alternate attacker rather than continuing to wait for Arceus.
How to play Arceus ex and Dialga ex
- Open with Dialga ex when possible. Use Metallic Turbo to place two Metal Energy on a Benched Pokémon; prioritize Arceus ex when you have it and can develop the board safely.
- Develop the Bench. The recommended list includes one Grass Shaymin and one Colorless Shaymin. Pocket Tactics describes their roles as healing and retreat-cost utility, helping support a developed board.
- Move Arceus ex into the Active Spot once it is ready. In the cited list, Arceus ex can reach 130 damage with three Pokémon on your Bench. Build toward that condition before exposing it as your attacker.
- Keep Dialga ex available as a second attacker. It is both the opening Energy engine and an alternative attacker if the Arceus ex plan is delayed or disrupted.
The listed Supporters and Items offer room to adapt, but the available evidence does not establish a universal matchup-by-matchup substitution chart. When changing the list, consider whether the replacement helps establish Dialga ex safely, fill the Bench, preserve the deck’s healing or protection, provide draw or disruption, or improve switching flexibility.

What the results do—and do not—show
Limitless TCG’s A2a-filtered Pokémon TCG Pocket results page lists Arceus ex / Dialga ex at rank 124 among its listed results, with 21 entries, 63 wins, 50 losses and 1 tie; the page displays a 55.26% record. That is a small, filter-specific listing accessed in 2026, not a representative estimate of the deck’s current overall win rate or evidence that it is top tier. See the A2a-filtered Limitless results for that scope.
Pairings and recommendations also depend on the format and date. A Nintendo Life guide published February 3, 2025, explains Dialga ex’s Energy acceleration but recommends a Yanmega ex pairing in the Space-Time Smackdown context; it is historical context, not support for this current Arceus ex list. The Pokémon Company International has also published an Arceus ex list with Abomasnow and Glaceon ex, which is a separate archetype rather than a variation of the list above.
