The rankings below reflect guides updated for version 1.1.9: Pocket Gamer’s character and gear assessments were updated October 6, 2026, and Pro Game Guides says it rechecked its rankings September 24, 2026. A tier is a guide author’s judgment, not a guarantee that an option is best for every player or mode.

Comparisons are fairest when star level, gear, runes, and fusion rank are similar. Archero 2 Hub explicitly frames its character comparison around comparable stars, gear, and runes, and notes that some characters change substantially at specific star levels. The mode matters too: a character or set that performs well in one context may not be the strongest choice in another.

When a character’s kit or star level changes the choice
- Dracoola: Pocket Gamer highlights lifesteal from 1-star and says the character improves with stars.
- Seraph: The guide says Seraph increases the chance of encountering Valkyrie early and helps unlock higher-grade abilities.
- Nyanja: Pocket Gamer notes increased movement speed and Swift Wind by default. Archero 2 Hub recommends Nyanja as a low-investment option for some free-to-play beginners, a reminder that a practical early choice need not be the top-ranked character.
- Helix: Pocket Gamer points to strength at low HP, a benefit that carries risk if you cannot safely stay there.
- Alex: Pocket Gamer identifies Alex as the starting character and notes an attack-speed boost based on crit at 2-star.
Use the tier as a starting point, then weigh the mode you play, the stars you can reach, the resources that investment will consume, and whether the character’s passive supports your build. A top-end rank alone does not establish that switching is worthwhile for your account.
Best gear: Oracle, Griffin, Dragoon, and Decisiveness
Pocket Gamer places Oracle, Griffin, Dragoon, and multiple pieces from those sets, along with Decisiveness, among its S-tier gear. Pro Game Guides gives these options more specific roles:

That ranking is not a universal recipe: a skill’s value depends on the rest of the build and the content you are playing. The guide also places some lower-rarity skills highly, so rarity alone is not its stated measure of strength.
Pocket Gamer cautions that ability rankings depend on play style and recommends experimenting with gear and abilities to find a build that suits you. Its author, Cristina Mesesan, puts the limitation plainly: “There is no definite Archero 2 tier list when it comes to abilities here.” Treat an S-tier skill as a promising option for a compatible build, not a reason to ignore synergy.

What changed in version 1.1.9
Pro Game Guides reports that version 1.1.9 rebalanced the Dragoon set and Meteor build runes. Its guide did not state exact rebalance values and said the rankings would be adjusted after testing, so the available guides do not support a precise claim about how much either changed in strength.
Pro Game Guides also reports that the update added campaign chapters 201–210 and Hard Mode chapters 186–195. It describes the Starmoon Vow event as running September 19 through October 2, 2026; that event period had ended by October 7, 2026. These update details come from the guide rather than independently verified developer patch notes.
