To find out whether Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II or Warzone 2 is down, check Activision’s live Online Services page and the network status page for your platform. A connection failure alone does not confirm a server outage: the cause could also be a platform service interruption or a local network problem.
Check whether Activision reports a game-service outage
Open Activision’s Online Services page, refresh it, and look for a listed event affecting the game you are trying to play. The page’s game selector includes Modern Warfare II and Warzone; Activision’s support page labels the latter “Call of Duty: Warzone.” The status can change, so check the page when the problem is happening rather than relying on an older report.

Check your console or PC platform’s network
A game may be reachable while the platform network or storefront you use is having trouble. Check the status resource for the service you play through; Activision links to status pages for PlayStation Network, Xbox, Battle.net, Nintendo, Steam, and Epic Games.

- Check the service for your actual platform and account, not just the game’s status.
A reported issue on either the game-service or platform side is a reason to wait for updates, not to start changing router settings. Local troubleshooting cannot restore a service that is unavailable upstream.
If no service issue is shown, troubleshoot your connection
When the official game and platform status pages show no applicable incident, work through these checks to help distinguish a local connection problem from a wider outage:

- Restart your router. Give it time to reconnect, then try the game again.
- Test a wired connection if practical. Activision’s connection guidance says, “Try using a wired connection.” If you are playing over Wi-Fi, Ethernet is an optional way to run that test; you do not need to buy a cable if you already have one or cannot connect by wire. A wired test may help identify a Wi-Fi problem, but it will not fix a game or platform outage.
- Check your connection speed. Compare the result with what you normally get from your internet service.
- Pause bandwidth-heavy activity. Temporarily limit downloads, streaming, or other applications using the connection, then test again.
These checks are for diagnosing your home connection. Avoid arbitrary port-forwarding, DNS, firewall, or router changes: the applicable settings depend on the platform and network, and Activision’s general ports article does not establish the right configuration for your specific setup. Use official, platform-specific guidance if you need to investigate those settings.

Activision’s outage-reporting workflow asks for connection type, country, ISP, and additional details. Include those facts when using its support or reporting options so the problem can be assessed in context.
