Arena of Valor is a free-to-play 5v5 MOBA for mobile, with Nintendo Switch also listed by its publisher. It is built around team battles and a large hero roster; Apple’s US App Store listing advertises matches of 15 minutes or less. Those official descriptions make it appealing to players looking for team-based battles in short sessions, but they do not establish current queue times, regional availability, or whether purchases are needed to compete.
What kind of game is Arena of Valor?
Arena of Valor is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) focused on 5v5 team play. The official Level Infinite page identifies TiMi Studio Group as developer and Level Infinite as publisher, and lists the game’s release date as October 13, 2016. The official Arena of Valor website also describes it as a 5v5 MOBA.
The central appeal is coordinating with teammates and choosing a hero suited to a team’s approach. Level Infinite describes a roster of more than 100 heroes; Apple’s US App Store listing, accessed in 2026, advertises 100+ heroes. Those storefront and publisher claims indicate breadth, but the reviewed sources do not detail how quickly heroes can be unlocked or how the current roster is balanced.
How long are matches?
Apple’s US App Store listing says matches can be completed in 15 minutes or less. That is a storefront claim, not a measured average or guarantee that every game ends within that time. Players should treat it as an indication of the intended session format rather than a promise about an individual match.

Which platforms can you play on?
| Platform | What the listed sources establish |
|---|---|
| iPhone and iPad | Named in the US Apple App Store listing. |
| Android | An Android listing appears on Google Play. |
| Nintendo Switch | Listed as a platform on the publisher’s page; confirm availability in your region before planning to play on Switch. |
These platform listings do not establish that all versions are available in every country or share matchmaking. Check the relevant regional store for current availability before downloading or buying a console for this game.
Is Arena of Valor free to play?
Apple and Google Play label Arena of Valor as free with in-app purchases. The listings confirm that purchases are offered, but the reviewed materials do not specify current prices, the contents of every offer, or whether spending is necessary to play or compete. The free-to-play label therefore describes the download and store model, not the full details of progression or monetization.

Is Arena of Valor still active?
The available evidence does not support a reliable, worldwide answer about current activity. A Reddit post in r/arenaofvalor asks whether the game is still active, but a question is not evidence of player counts or matchmaking health. Google Play’s listing snapshot, accessed in 2026, showed 10M+ downloads, 1.15M reviews and a 3.9-star rating; Apple’s US listing snapshot showed a 4.6 rating from 89K ratings. These are platform-reported storefront figures, not active-player totals, and can change over time.
Queue times and the size of a local player base can depend on region, platform, rank and time of day. The reviewed sources do not provide current, region-specific measurements for those factors. If fast matchmaking is essential to your decision, check recent reports from players in your region and on your intended platform rather than relying on download or review counts.
