What was the original release date?
The game was once promoted for release in 2023 on Steam, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. That was a historical target, not an upcoming release date: it has passed, and the developer’s 2025 reply did not renew it or confirm those platforms for a future launch. The planned date and platforms appear in the TGS 2021 announcement trailer description and a 2022 report about the title change.

Why do some pages call it The Awakener: Risen?
Arise of Awakener was renamed The Awakener: Risen, the name used in later coverage and the developer’s Steam reply. The wording “The Awakener: Rise” in that reply refers to this project; it does not establish a separate release date.
Do not confuse it with The Awakener: Battle Tendency, a separate game. RPG Site distinguishes Battle Tendency from Risen; Battle Tendency’s launch information is not a release date for Risen.
