It released on July 9, 2026, and Ubisoft lists it for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
What is the Black Flag remake called?
The official title is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Ubisoft’s product page uses that name, and the publisher confirmed it in March 2026, as reported by PC Gamer. Ubisoft teased the confirmation with a nod to the series motto: “Speculation around Assassin’s Creed is not new, but it’s worth repeating: ‘Nothing is true. Everything is permitted,’” followed by, “Well, except in this case, some whispers have a little more wind in their sails.”

Is Resynced a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag?
Yes. Ubisoft describes Resynced as a remake of the 2013 game Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The adventure retains the pirate premise and Edward Kenway, while Ubisoft characterizes the project as a faithful recreation with enhancements and new content.
Ubisoft says the game was rebuilt from the ground up using the latest version of the Anvil Engine. Its launch description highlights visual upgrades, naval combat, and an improved combat system centered on parrying. Those are the publisher’s descriptions, rather than independent assessments of how the changes look or play.
