Assassin’s Creed Shadows gives you tools and progression systems that can help uncover optional content, but the official sources available here do not verify a location-by-location list of Easter eggs. Use Observe, Naoe’s Eagle Vision, stealth, traversal, and Kakurega rumors to investigate—then treat specific community claims as leads until confirmed in-game.
What counts as a confirmed secret in Shadows?
A useful secrets guide should distinguish between a discovery mechanic and a verified discovery. Ubisoft explains how players can reveal points of interest, move quietly, reach hidden routes, and receive rumors about treasure. Those systems make exploration more effective; they do not prove that a particular reference or hidden item exists at a particular location.
For now, the accessible official material does not establish an exact, verified catalog of Easter-egg locations, triggers, regions, or spoiler levels. The practical approach is to use the game’s discovery systems and verify any specific claim in-game before relying on it.
How to scan for points of interest
Use Observe to survey an area
Both protagonists can use Observe to identify targets, tag and monitor enemies, and highlight lootable stashes, collectibles, and quest objectives. From a Synch Point, it can also help examine nearby locations. Pause at a vantage point and scan before moving on; a highlighted category is a clue to investigate, not a guarantee that an Easter egg is nearby. Ubisoft’s getting-started guide covers the game’s discovery and progression systems.

Combine Observe with Naoe’s Eagle Vision
Naoe’s Eagle Vision is character-specific. It can reveal enemies behind walls and relevant sounds, and Ubisoft says it surfaces information distinct from Observe. Using the two together can help you spot and tag enemies through obstructions before choosing a route. Eagle Vision is an investigation aid, not a general-purpose detector for every secret.
Use stealth to explore without giving yourself away
Stealth systems can make it safer to inspect an area closely. Ubisoft’s stealth gameplay overview describes how visibility, sound, and stance affect detection:
- Look for shadows: Nighttime shadow pockets can conceal you indoors and outdoors. Naoe can break lanterns with a shuriken to create shadow cover.
- Crouch to quiet your steps: Crouching reduces footstep noise and can help when crossing creaking Nightingale Floors.
- Go prone when visibility is the concern: Prone movement reduces visibility, including on rooftops and underwater.
- Use hiding places: Small cracks and storage spaces can serve as places to hide.
These are stealth techniques, not proof that a specific shadow, floor, hiding spot, or underwater area contains a hidden collectible.

Check alternate routes and traversal paths
Not every optional discovery is reached by following the most obvious path. Ubisoft Québec describes hidden parkour paths in nature, climbing on trees and rocks, grapple points, and advanced sequences that can chain swings without touching the ground. Naoe is better equipped than Yasuke to climb and jump: she can jump farther and reach higher.

Character choice and movement style matter when checking a hard-to-reach route. Holding parkour up is noisy and high-profile; parkour down supports quieter landings. As Simon, Shadows’ Associate Game Director, puts it: “In our game, holding down the parkour up button like it’s a gas pedal is not the optimal way to do parkour.” See Ubisoft Québec’s parkour overview for these traversal details.
Use activities, animals, and Kakurega to surface optional content
Advance Knowledge through marked activities
Map activities marked with an orange hexagon advance Knowledge rank. Ubisoft lists lost scrolls, shrines, Naoe’s formative memories, and Yasuke’s horse-archery activity among them. These activities provide a structured way to explore optional content, even when you are not searching for a specific Easter egg.

Bring animals back to the Hideout
Domesticated animals can be petted and added to the Hideout. Wildlife can be painted for display after you sneak up on it. These are separate activities: one adds an animal to the Hideout, while the other creates a display of wildlife.
Upgrade Kakurega for treasure and collectible rumors
Kakurega provides supplies and contracts. Upgrading it can surface rumors that lead to unique treasure and collectibles. A Study adds scouts, while a Stables upgrade helps scouts collect tagged resource stockpiles at the end of a season. These systems can guide you toward optional rewards, but a rumor should not be confused with proof of an environmental Easter egg. Ubisoft’s getting-started guide explains these Hideout and Kakurega features.
How to treat reported Easter-egg leads
A creator’s video description published April 3, 2025 names possible discoveries including “Legendary Mount Namazu,” an “Island of Cats,” “Mr. Melon & Mr. Watermelon,” a “Dark Souls Bonfire,” a “Shark Statue (Samebito),” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & the Ronin Rabbit.” The description does not establish precise locations or interpretations, so these are unverified leads rather than confirmed entries in a location guide. The video description is the source for the claims.

To verify a specific find, record its region, the route or trigger that reveals it, the visible detail, and whether it requires a particular character or progression. If it reveals story content, label the spoiler level before describing it. Do not infer a reference from resemblance alone.
What the final-update listing establishes
Ubisoft’s final-update search-result excerpt says the update adds narrative content, introduces Domains challenges, and connects Shadows to Edward Kenway’s Caribbean adventures. It also asks whether there are Easter eggs or hidden details players should watch for. That excerpt does not establish specific new Easter eggs, an ending detail, or exact update content, so it is not enough to verify a particular discovery. Ubisoft’s final-update listing is the source for that limited information.
