Yes—Nintendo lists the Nintendo Switch version of Astonishia Story as supported on Nintendo Switch 2. Its compatibility note says, “Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch.” That confirms listed compatibility, not a Switch 2 performance upgrade: the listing gives no frame-rate, resolution, loading-time, or stability measurements.
Does Astonishia Story run well on Switch 2?
The current Nintendo US product listing labels the game “Supported” for Switch 2 and says its behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch. In practical terms, Nintendo’s title-specific listing indicates that the Switch release is expected to work on Switch 2.
“Supported” is not a benchmark. The listing does not specify a frame rate, resolution, loading times, or whether performance differs between the two consoles. No Switch 2-specific performance mode or measured result is established by the cited sources, so there is not enough information to claim the game runs faster, looks sharper, loads sooner, or is more stable on Switch 2.
What the compatibility label does—and does not—tell you
Nintendo’s Switch 2 compatibility guidance says Switch 2 plays Switch games, while noting that some titles may not be supported or fully compatible. It directs players to publishers for third-party game specifics. For this title, the game-specific Nintendo listing is the most directly relevant evidence, but it still does not describe technical performance.

- It does tell you: Nintendo currently lists the Switch version as supported on Switch 2, with behavior consistent with Switch.
- It does not tell you: a Switch 2 patch, enhanced edition, higher resolution, higher frame rate, quicker loading, or a side-by-side performance result.
If a separate Switch 2 edition or update is announced, check whether it is a distinct release or an update to the Switch version, what technical changes it specifies, and whether it requires a separate purchase. The current sources do not establish that such an edition or upgrade exists.
Release and version details to check
Nintendo’s US listing identifies the release as a digital Nintendo Switch game published by NIS America, with American English listed as the supported language. Its listed release date is February 11, 2027; that is the current schedule shown on the page, not a guarantee that the date cannot change. The estimated file size is 2.4 GB for both Switch and Switch 2, and the listed play modes are TV, tabletop, and handheld. Nintendo notes that compatibility and experience may differ on Switch Lite.

Nintendo’s US page describes a digital Switch edition. A September 4, 2026 Crunchyroll News report says an NIS America Special Edition was reported with an original soundtrack, card set, and acrylic keychain. That report is not confirmation of current retailer stock or availability, and the Nintendo listing does not verify that package. Before buying, confirm the platform, region, physical format, contents, release timing, and seller’s current listing.
