The ASUS ROG Swift 32-inch 4K OLED in this firmware story is the ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP—a 31.5-inch-viewable 4K WOLED monitor with 4K/240 Hz and Full HD/480 Hz modes. ASUS’s support page lists MCM103 (August 15, 2024) and MCM106 (January 14, 2025), with MCM106 the newest documented version there. The updates add HDR controls, OLED-care options and bug fixes; they do not change the monitor’s underlying panel or dual-mode hardware.

First, identify the exact monitor

PG32UCDP owners should use the firmware listed for that model on ASUS’s PG32UCDP support page. The similarly named PG32UCDM and PG32UCDMR are different QD-OLED monitors with different firmware, ports and OLED-care systems. Never cross-flash their packages.

The PG32UCDP’s original hardware includes a 32-inch-class 3840×2160 WOLED panel, 4K at 240 Hz or Full HD at 480 Hz dual mode, OLED Anti-Flicker, AI Assistant, Uniform Brightness, Auto KVM, DisplayWidget Center and USB-C power delivery. ASUS specifies USB-C as 65 W by default, with 90 W available when enabled in the OSD. Those are product features, not additions delivered by MCM103 or MCM106. See the official product page.

What each firmware version changed

Version ASUS date Documented changes
MCM103 August 15, 2024 Higher AI Sniper and MOBA Map Helper sensitivity; improved brightness management below 128 grayscale in 10-bit mode; adjustable HDR color temperature, brightness, saturation, contrast, six-axis saturation and Vivid Pixel; brightness adjustment with ELMB; HDR proximity-sensor fix; left shortcut reassigned to Frame Rate Boost; True Black 400 made the default HDR mode, with default brightness values of 80 for True Black 400 and 90 for Console, Gaming and Cinema.
MCM106 January 14, 2025 Added Screen Saver and Auto Logo Brightness OLED-care options; fixed color-space settings being lost after switching to sRGB and toggling HDR; fixed a saved 4K/240 Hz setting making another option’s Load control unavailable; corrected reversed left/right SPDIF optical channels with an amplifier.

These release notes are published on ASUS’s firmware page. An article dated May 26, 2026 describes a “fresh” update but does not identify a version or reproduce a complete ASUS changelog, so it is not evidence of a separate May 2026 PG32UCDP release.

What owners may notice

More practical HDR adjustment

MCM103 is most useful if the factory HDR presentation did not suit your games or room. You can now adjust brightness, color temperature, saturation, contrast, six-axis color and Vivid Pixel in HDR, and alter brightness while ELMB is active. More controls do not guarantee greater accuracy: custom changes can move the monitor away from a calibrated or creator-oriented appearance. Because MCM103 changed the default HDR mode and brightness values, review those settings after updating.

Additional OLED protection controls

MCM106 adds Screen Saver and Auto Logo Brightness. ASUS also lists Pixel Cleaning, Screen Saver, Screen Move and Logo Brightness Adjustment as part of the monitor’s OLED-care system. These functions are intended to reduce static-image exposure; they cannot eliminate burn-in risk. Avoid leaving taskbars, desktop windows or game HUDs fixed on screen for prolonged periods, and expect protection routines to alter or interrupt static content.

Fixes rather than a faster panel

The firmware addresses settings retention, saved-mode behavior, proximity sensing and optical-audio channel order. It does not turn the PG32UCDP into a newer panel, add a different refresh-rate combination or make 4K run at 480 Hz. Full HD/480 Hz remains the hardware’s competitive-gaming mode, while 4K/240 Hz preserves resolution.

Check your installed version before downloading

  1. Confirm “PG32UCDP” on the monitor’s rear label or packaging.
  2. Open the on-screen display with the joystick or control buttons.
  3. Open the System Setup or Information area and find the firmware/version entry.
  4. Record the displayed version, then compare it with the package for your exact regional model on ASUS’s support page.

Menu labels can vary by firmware and region. If your OSD differs, use the PG32UCDP manual rather than assuming a universal path.

Safe update procedure

  1. Download only the newest package shown for PG32UCDP on the official ASUS page.
  2. Read ASUS’s supplied instructions before extracting or copying files; do not invent a USB filename, folder or filesystem requirement.
  3. Use the update method ASUS specifies for that package.
  4. Connect the monitor to stable, direct power and disconnect unnecessary peripherals if ASUS requests it.
  5. Do not turn off the monitor, unplug it or switch inputs while flashing.
  6. Wait for the reboot to finish completely.
  7. Check the version again, then review HDR mode and brightness, refresh rate, color space, OLED-care options, USB-C power setting and shortcut assignments.

If something goes wrong

  • Wrong model selected: Stop and obtain the PG32UCDP package; PG32UCDM and PG32UCDMR firmware is not interchangeable.
  • Version appears unchanged: Perform a full power cycle and recheck the Information screen.
  • Settings reset: Reconfigure HDR, refresh rate, color space, OLED Care, USB-C power and shortcuts.
  • Update freezes or fails: Do not repeatedly interrupt power. Follow ASUS recovery directions or contact ASUS support.
  • No picture afterward: Try the original input and cable, then complete a full power cycle. Persistent failure requires ASUS service or warranty support.
  • HDR looks different: MCM103 changed defaults, so select your preferred HDR mode and brightness again.
  • OLED-care actions feel intrusive: Screen saving, logo dimming, screen movement and pixel cleaning are protective behaviors; disabling them can increase static-image exposure.

Should you install it?

For PG32UCDP owners, updating is generally sensible if you want HDR controls, ELMB brightness adjustment, OLED-care additions or fixes for settings, sensing and SPDIF problems. Before flashing a professionally calibrated or time-sensitive system, save your settings and plan to verify them afterward. If you own another ROG Swift OLED model, use that model’s separate support page instead.

What this update does not provide

  • It does not add a new OLED generation or alter the WOLED panel.
  • It does not change the 4K/240 Hz and Full HD/480 Hz hardware modes.
  • It does not remove OLED burn-in risk.
  • It does not make PG32UCDP firmware compatible with PG32UCDM, PG32UCDMR or another ASUS display.

Buying context

When comparing monitors, distinguish the PG32UCDP’s WOLED dual mode from ASUS’s QD-OLED alternatives such as the PG32UCDMR. Compare panel type, coating, DisplayPort bandwidth, USB-C power, OLED-care tools, warranty and local pricing. Firmware support is useful, but it should not be treated as a substitute for newer hardware.
