Short answer: the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA507NU with the Ryzen 7 7435HS is a capable plugged-in 1080p gaming laptop, typically combining an RTX 4050 Laptop GPU, 16 GB of DDR5 memory, upgradeable storage and a high-refresh display. Its biggest drawback is easy to miss: the Ryzen 7 7435HS has no integrated GPU, so battery efficiency is generally worse than comparable A15 models with an iGPU.
FA507NU is a family designation rather than one globally identical configuration. Check the full retail suffix, such as FA507NUR-LP082W, before relying on the advertised display, SSD, operating system, GPU power limit or battery capacity.
What exactly is the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA507NU?
The name describes several layers of the product:

- Compare that code with the retailer’s invoice and product page.
- Check the box label before accepting delivery, where possible.
- After purchase, verify the model in BIOS, Windows System Information or MyASUS.

Ryzen 7 7435HS: strong CPU, important battery compromise
The Ryzen 7 7435HS is an eight-core, 16-thread Zen 3-based mobile processor with boost speeds up to 4.5 GHz. It is well suited to gaming, multitasking, programming, compiling code and moderate content-creation workloads. In this laptop, however, the CPU label does not tell the whole story.
The 7435HS does not include an integrated graphics processor. The discrete RTX 4050 therefore has to remain involved more often, particularly during light workloads and battery operation. That can reduce unplugged runtime compared with an otherwise similar A15 using a processor with integrated Radeon graphics.

It is a platform trade-off: the laptop can deliver good performance when connected to its AC adapter, but it is a poor choice if your priority is long periods of web browsing, note-taking or office work away from a socket. Battery results also vary with brightness, refresh rate, wireless activity, firmware, power mode, background software and battery health. RTX 4050 Laptop GPU and gaming expectations
The RTX 4050 in this machine is the laptop version, not the desktop card. ASUS lists configurations with up to 140 W of GPU power, subject to the laptop’s mode, firmware, thermals and Dynamic Boost behavior. A 140 W RTX 4050 laptop can perform differently from a lower-power RTX 4050 in a thinner machine.
Its 6 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, DLSS support and hardware ray tracing make it a sensible 1080p gaming GPU:
- Esports at 1080p: the hardware is appropriate for high-refresh gaming, and less demanding games may make good use of the 144 Hz screen.
- Modern AAA games at 1080p: expect a medium-to-high-settings experience, with DLSS useful in demanding releases.
- Ray tracing: possible, but you may need to reduce settings or enable upscaling.
- External 1440p display: workable in many games, though demanding AAA titles are better suited to native 1080p.
The main long-term limitation is the 6 GB VRAM capacity. Very high texture settings and newer games can put pressure on it before the eight-core CPU becomes the problem. The exact result depends on the game, driver, memory configuration, cooling and selected power mode.

A Notebookcheck review tested a related TUF A15 platform with an RTX 4050, 144 Hz display, 16 GB memory and 512 GB SSD. Because that tested unit used a Ryzen 7 7735HS rather than necessarily the exact 7435HS retail configuration, its benchmark, thermal and battery results should not be presented as universal results for every FA507NU.
Display: good for gaming, not automatically professional-grade
The common panel is a 15.6-inch Full HD display running at 144 Hz, with an anti-glare surface. Listed configurations can include G-SYNC, a MUX Switch and NVIDIA Advanced Optimus. ASUS also lists 100% sRGB for the common FHD panel, while certain markets offer different panels, including a 165 Hz 1440p option.
For gaming, a 144 Hz FHD panel is a sensible match for an RTX 4050. The caveats are brightness and panel variation. ASUS commonly lists brightness around 250 nits and describes the screen as “Value IPS-level,” so it should not be treated as a premium professional display based on an sRGB claim alone. Colorists and other color-critical users should look for independent measurements of the exact panel, including brightness, calibration, contrast, response behavior and PWM.
Before buying, confirm the exact resolution, refresh rate, brightness and color coverage for the suffix in the listing. Do not assume that every FA507NU has the same screen.
RAM and SSD upgradeability
Upgradeability is one of the FA507N platform’s strongest practical advantages. ASUS documentation shows two SO-DIMM memory slots and service procedures for installing memory. The platform also supports M.2 NVMe storage, with ASUS documentation covering M.2 installation and battery reconnection.
For most buyers:
- 16 GB: adequate for current gaming, everyday work and ordinary multitasking.
- 32 GB: preferable for development environments, virtual machines, heavy browser use, streaming, content creation and longer ownership.
- 512 GB SSD: fast enough for normal use, but easy to fill with modern game installations.
- 1 TB or an additional NVMe drive: more comfortable for a large game library.
Prefer a matched DDR5-4800 SO-DIMM kit rather than mixing very different capacities or speeds. For storage, confirm that the exact laptop has a free M.2 position, mounting screw and any required thermal pad before ordering a drive. Internal suppliers can vary, so different RAM, SSD or display brands do not by themselves prove that a laptop is counterfeit.
Back up important data, shut down the system, disconnect the charger and follow the appropriate ASUS service manual or customer self-repair guide. Do not force the bottom cover or overtighten screws. Warranty effects depend on local law and ASUS policy, so check the terms for your country and retain the original parts.

Battery life, charging and portability
A commonly listed 90 Wh battery is a respectable capacity for a gaming laptop, but it does not turn this into an all-day ultraportable. The missing iGPU in the Ryzen 7 7435HS configuration is the central reason to expect weaker light-use efficiency than an equivalent A15 with integrated graphics.

- Expect the large charger to add materially to travel weight.
- Judge battery claims by test conditions rather than a single advertised number.
- For commuting or campus use, an iGPU-equipped alternative may be better even if its CPU name appears less impressive.
The laptop’s approximately 2.2 kg chassis is manageable for occasional travel, but it is not genuinely lightweight once the power adapter is included.
Cooling, noise and operating modes
The cooling system is designed around gaming-laptop power levels and plugged-in use. Turbo mode can increase fan noise and heat in exchange for higher performance; Performance mode is often the more balanced everyday choice, while Silent mode can reduce performance substantially.
Fan behavior and surface temperatures vary with ambient temperature, BIOS and firmware versions, dust, game load and the exact internal components. Do not apply thermal or noise figures from one reviewed sample to every FA507NU. Notebookcheck has also noted component variation among otherwise similar TUF A15 configurations.
Ports and connectivity
Retail photographs and generic A15 listings are not reliable enough to identify every port or charging limitation. Confirm the exact official specification for the suffix. Buyers should specifically check the presence and version of USB-A, USB-C, HDMI, Ethernet and the 3.5 mm audio jack, along with wireless networking details.

Do not assume USB-C charging can replace the primary AC adapter for gaming. Only treat USB-C power as a full-performance charging solution if ASUS explicitly specifies the supported wattage and behavior for that exact model.

“FA507NU” but a different processor
FA507NU-family models can appear with Ryzen 5 7535HS, Ryzen 7 7735HS and Ryzen 7 7435HS processors in different markets. Verify the CPU instead of inferring it from the family code. ASUS’s regional specification pages show this variation.

“RTX 4050” with no power information
Ask for the full product code and official GPU specification. Power limit, cooling and firmware affect performance, so a generic RTX 4050 label is incomplete.
“100% sRGB” without a panel code
Apply that claim only to the identified panel configuration. Related A15 models can use different resolutions and gamut specifications.
Battery complaints interpreted as proof of a faulty unit
The 7435HS’s missing iGPU provides a structural explanation for higher light-use power draw. Battery health, display refresh rate, GPU mode, firmware and background applications still need checking before diagnosing a hardware fault.
Assuming the laptop is counterfeit because parts differ
ASUS may use different internal suppliers across regions and production batches. A different SSD, RAM kit or panel can change measured results without proving that the machine is fake. Verify the full model and serial number through ASUS instead.
Who should buy the FA507NU with Ryzen 7 7435HS?
It is a good fit for
- 1080p gamers who normally play near an outlet;
- buyers seeking RTX features at a moderate gaming-laptop price;
- students and creators who value upgradeable memory and storage;
- users who want a high-refresh display and hardware MUX functionality;
- owners prepared to expand 16 GB RAM or 512 GB storage later.
It is a poor fit for
- people who need dependable all-day battery life;
- frequent travelers who want a light system and small charger;
- professional colorists unless the exact panel has been independently measured;
- buyers expecting high-end ray tracing or generous long-term VRAM headroom;
- anyone buying on the “Ryzen 7” label without understanding the missing iGPU.
When is it worth buying?
Buy it when the full listing confirms the desired screen, 16 GB dual-channel memory, appropriate storage, warranty coverage and a price clearly below newer RTX 4060 or newer-generation alternatives. The value is strongest for plugged-in 1080p gaming, not battery-first computing.
Skip it when a similarly priced RTX 4060 laptop is available, when you will work mainly away from a charger, when the listing has only 8 GB RAM with no clear upgrade path, or when the seller cannot provide the complete suffix. Also reject any listing that incorrectly describes the Ryzen 7 7435HS as having integrated Radeon graphics.

Final verdict
The ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA507NU with the Ryzen 7 7435HS is a sensible 1080p gaming laptop when bought at the right price and with the exact configuration verified. The RTX 4050, high-refresh display and upgradeable RAM and storage are its main strengths. The defining weakness is the Ryzen 7 7435HS’s lack of an integrated GPU, which makes it less attractive for unplugged use than similar A15 models with an iGPU.
In short: choose it for affordable, plugged-in gaming performance; avoid it if portability, quiet operation away from an outlet or long battery life matters more than GPU performance.
