The 2025 ASUS TUF Gaming T500 is a compact gaming desktop with an unusual mix: an Intel H-series processor designed for laptops and a discrete NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics card. ASUS lists configurations up to a Core i7-13620H and RTX 5060 Ti, but the exact parts and capacities depend on the regional SKU. The design is a compact-system approach, not evidence that the T500 outperforms a conventional desktop.
Why ASUS put a laptop CPU in a desktop
The T500’s processor options are the Intel Core i5-13420H and Core i7-13620H. The H suffix identifies these as mobile-class processors rather than conventional desktop chips. ASUS describes the i7-13620H as originally designed for the power-efficiency requirements of a laptop form factor. ASUS’s T500 product page says the desktop chassis makes more room for cooling and describes custom heatsinks, copper heatpipes and a 90 mm fan.
That is ASUS’s explanation of the design, not independent evidence of a particular temperature, noise level, power draw or gaming result. No measured results or fair benchmark comparison are established here. The practical trade-off is that the T500 combines a laptop-origin CPU with desktop graphics in a compact tower; buyers should judge its performance using testing of the exact configuration they are considering.
What hardware does the TUF Gaming T500 offer?
ASUS’s 2025 announcements describe ceilings and optional parts, not a single standard configuration. Check the exact product code before buying: the top specification does not mean every unit includes those components.

| Component | ASUS-published specification | What to verify on the SKU |
|---|---|---|
| Processor | Optional Intel Core i5-13420H or Core i7-13620H | Which processor the listing includes |
| Graphics | Up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti | Exact GPU and graphics memory capacity |
| Memory | Up to 64GB DDR5; the US specifications list two SO-DIMM slots | Included RAM and upgrade configuration |
| Storage | Up to 2TB PCIe 4.0 storage; the US specifications list two M.2 SSD slots | Included SSD capacity and whether a slot is free |
| Networking | Wi-Fi 6 and 1Gb Ethernet | Regional specification and any listing-specific differences |
| Power supply | 500W TFX, 80+ Platinum | Confirm this is the 2025 T500, not the similarly named TM500 |
| Size and weight | 15.5 × 29.6 × 34.7 cm; 6 kg on ASUS’s US specification table | Available desk or floor space and regional listing details |
These figures come from ASUS’s May 2, 2025 global announcement and ASUS USA’s T500 announcement and specification table. Maximum RAM and storage are not necessarily what ships in a particular configuration. Before planning an SSD upgrade, check whether the relevant M.2 slot is occupied and confirm the exact model’s fit and support.
What ASUS announced for US launch pricing
On April 16, 2025, ASUS USA announced historical US pricing of $999.99 for an i5-13420H configuration with an RTX 5060 Ti and 8GB of graphics memory, and an MSRP of $1,299.99 for an i7-13620H configuration with an RTX 5060 Ti and 16GB of graphics memory. ASUS also said pre-orders would begin through the ASUS Store, with select partners including Best Buy, Costco and Micro Center. These are launch-era statements, not current prices, stock information or confirmation that those exact configurations remain available.

How to assess a listing before you buy
The published specifications establish what configurations ASUS announced, but they do not settle whether a particular listing is good value today. Compare the actual SKU with another gaming PC rather than relying on the T500 family name or its maximum specifications.
- CPU: Confirm whether the system has the Core i5-13420H or Core i7-13620H, then consider whether your games and other workloads benefit from that processor.
- GPU and VRAM: Check the exact graphics card and memory capacity; the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB and 16GB launch configurations are not interchangeable details.
- Memory and storage: Verify installed RAM, SSD capacity and slot occupancy, not just the published maximums.
- Fit and ownership: Compare dimensions with your space, and check current local price, warranty and availability with the seller.
- Performance evidence: Look for independent results for the same CPU and GPU configuration. ASUS’s cooling description alone cannot establish gaming performance, thermals or noise.
T500 and TM500 are different model families
Do not apply the 2025 T500 specifications to the later TUF Gaming TM500. In a January 6, 2026 announcement, ASUS listed optional Ryzen 7 260 or Ryzen 5 220 processors, Radeon RX 9060 XT or GeForce RTX 5060 graphics, up to 64GB DDR5-5600 memory, up to 1TB PCIe 4.0 storage and a 330W TFX power supply for the TM500. Those are TM500 specifications, not details of the 2025 T500.
